Buying a car from a Cadillac Car Dealer
Thanks for the additional information, cooper0098. OK, so you leased a $74,805 Cadillac for $68,777 and then has the available cash incentive subtracted from that. The $6,000 dealer discount that you were given probably puts you at, or even below dealer invoice...which is an excellent deal. It looks like you did great. Enjoy your new ride! OK Carman, is the $7k lease incentive offset by crazy MF and low residuals?? Can you supply the latest MF and residuals? I was interested in heading to Cadillac dealer but this type of information may push me back to BMW or Acura....
OK, so I see that GM offers everyone the partner Pricing (which I already had) but now have a $6000 or so dealer cash added to the price. I drive by seeing a white STS with a $46K+ sticker with a red tag sale of $37K+. I'm suddenly interested. Let me first say how dissapointing it is that the CTS is not big enough for an adult to sit comfortably in the back. I have to pull my knees up and tilt my head to sit in it at all in the back. The STS to my amazement, as big as it looks, is only marginally better. I know why GM and others are hurting. Anyway, back to the story. I was interested but when I asked about trades, I was informed that since they discount the car so much it would be a wholesale to wholesale price difference. I understand if I'm dickering against a car that is not getting rebates that high book to high book or low book to low book is maybe a decent deal. But I told him the price on the window is no longer a wholesale price, it's THE price you want for the car regardless if I trade or not. I'm not willing to let them make $6000 on my trade when they are willing to give the new Cadillac away at cost. I've tried to deal here before but never have gotten a better deal. I thought since they were hungry they might be better. I'm guessing they can all starve for all I care. I've always been able to get a better deal on my clean trades. Fortunate for me I have a long list of cars I like and even though they are in different price ranges, I simply look for something I like that is a good deal. Whay can't GM make a domestic car that has the room of a Pontiac G8? (Don't tell me about the DTS_my wife says we are not old enough to drive one of those yet)
OK. nobody jump on me for putting alot down. I know the risks and it was imprtant for me to stay within a monthly budget. Anyway, do you think I got a fair deal? I just leased a 2008 CTS with a window sticker of $39685, I put $4500 down, 10K/mi/yr, 39 mo., for $397 mo. which icludes tax at 7%, I qualify for friends and family discount. Originally I thought it seemed like a fair deal and I ran the numbers thru a lease calculator using 63% risidual value and .00254 MFand the numbers were real close. However, when I study my lease agreement they used alot of fuzzy math to come up with the same number. BTW, the car is awesome. I just hope I got a reasonable deal. Thanks!....CJ
OK, nobody go off on me for putting alot down. I know the risks. I just would like to know if I was treated fairly? These are the facts that I know for sure. The window sticker was $39685, I put $4500 down, 39 month lease, 10000 miles/ yr, qualified for friends and family discount, my payment is $397/mo which includes tax. Originally I thought it was a fair deal, but they sure came up with some fuzzy math on my purchase agreement to get to the $397/mo. I would really appreciate any feedback. BTW, the car is awesome!....CJ
