"Not sure how far to take my current/2006 VW jetta TDI beyond 103k" Unless you've already had the TBWP replaced and the camshaft checked for damage, I would be seriously thinking of getting it into the best VW service shop you can find ASAP and if the top end is OK, be prepared top drive out about $800.00 lighter. If you have a DSG, make sure the fluid is changed in that too and listen to hear if the DMF is getting noisy while it's up on the hoist. That will add another several hundred dollars to the bill, but better that than the nasty alternative. Did mine at 40, and 80,000 miles, hope for the best, but plan for the worst is my 2006 VW's motto.
Mozart, Here are a few of the reasons: - Odyssey is ubiquitous in my area. One parked in every driveway in my neighborhood, there is enough homogeneity here to not have everyone have the same car. - Originally bought the Odyssey for the capability to seat 8, amongst other reasons (rarely used the 2nd row middle seat as anything other than a step for the kids to get to the back). - VCM engine did not return the kind of mileage we had expected - average was 18-19 in daily driving which was mostly suburban/hwy, rarely any city driving. Big disappointment there. - Transmission was starting to make some unsmooth shifts. Took to dealer a few times, they complained they couldn't replicate issue, etc. Problem didnt get any better after they fixed the transmission and brake recalls. Given the transmission problems of the previous generation, didnt want to have to deal with it. - Odyssey held its value extremely well so my depreciation costs of owning it for 30 months I did were $100/month. If it had lost more value, I would have held onto it longer until the powertrain warranty was up. - With 3 kids DVD player was becoming more of a need for my wife's sanity. The strap onto the seat ones were OK, but left lots of loose parts to break/get lost/etc. - I plan on maintaining my own vehicles (tuneups, fluid changes, etc.). Had so many problems getting to anything attached to the engine in my old van (not the Odyssey) that I had sworn off vans from now on. However the front shape of the T&C/Caravan/Routan is almost like a car/truck. I can get to all the spark plugs/O2 sensors without having to tear the engine apart. [The no cost maintenance with the Routan is a nice treat as well].
You're welcome walid_gti. OK, so you're interested in leasing a 2010 Volkswagen GTI that has an MSRP of $24,639 and a selling price of $21,825. This car probably has a gap of around $1,500 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. The $2,800 dealer discount that you were quoted is surprisingly large...and a very good deal. The money factor that you mentioned is slightly higher than the .00041 that VW Credit was running on this car last month, but even so this is a very attractive deal. My payment is $477 a month. I just paid first payment up front and rolled the rest into the lease. I had the dealer roll the last 3 payments ($1650 total) I had left on a BMW lease into the new deal and cut me a check back. I was OK to pay the 1.51 % interest on this money over the next 3 years to make the deal work for us 3 months early and to get this deal. My payment would of been about $447 without the check back for the BMW. I think that your deal above is a great deal. The MSRP on mine was 32,065, $595 acq fee, they rolled the difference in the taxes minus the $2000 credit into my purchase price. My deal sheet shows no taxes, but I am paying about $550 in taxes over the term of the lease. My big reason to pull the trigger was the MF in March was by far the best deal on a small SUV and the residual was set at 51%. My wife was 100% sure that this was the car she wanted next and I felt like the lease deal would not get any better over the next 3 months for this SUV. Hope this info helps.
What do you think of following: 2010 Routan SE w/ RSE & Nav - grey on grey 36 mo 36k mi lease in NY/NJ area $1000 total due at signing (incl tax, 3 yrs NY tags, 1 mo lease payment) $438/mo (including tax) I thought this was a good deal until I started reading this thread..
