Buying a car from a GMC Car Dealer
DO NOT BUY A GMC TERRAIN!!!!!!! The car is sexy and drives OK but the V6 has little power and I've had several trips back to dealer because of mechanical problems. Not to mention the best gas mileage you will get is around 25-27mph highways instead of the advertised 32mph. I've had my new 2011 GMC Terrain SLT FWD for a total of 24 days and 1,000 miles and the Service Engine Light (SEL)came on. I took it back to the dealer and they fixed it after a few days saying "Found lean codes in memory. Inspected Engine for vacuum leak. Found Dip Stick Tube not sealed properly. repaired and road tested vehicle." I asked the service tech if they have seen a lot of Terrains back in for repairs and of course he said no I just happen to be unlucky. I drove the car for another 19 days and ~700 miles and the SEL came on AGAIN. The vehicle is back in the shop and it's been over two days and I am still waiting for the shop to call. If must get this car make sure to get the extended warranty because you will need it. I should have known GM = Government Motors and it would function the same as our government - IT DOESN'T!

Want to put 0 down. What should I expect a monthly payment at? I received this qoute from my dealer Down payment $3,000 plus taxes Monthly- $540 for FWD/ $600 for AWD with all above options. I think this might be an OK deal if there was no down payment. Am I out of line here? Anthony
Just wanted to post my deal here and see what you all think...I think I did OK. Pretty much a fully loaded Acadia- MSRP- $46,465 Negotiated price- $40,027 Lease- $521/mo for 39 mo at 12k a year. Due at signing- $550 security deposit, $521 first payment, $168 license and reg for a total of $1239. I was only able to get a 8% factor...I asked about the 7.25% but they said they was no such thing. Residual = 62% Also, I received the $500 loyalty rebate. They planned to include the conquest rebate but the computer wouldn't let them 'stack the rebates', does anyone know anymore about this. I have both a GM and non-GM vehicle. They even called the regional guy who said they couldn't be together. Anyway, any input would be great.
I went through the Acadia vs Outlook debate last June. I was in the market for a 7-8 passenger vehicle when I learned of the "new" Acadia. It had just come out and Buick announced the Enclave. I really liked the Acadia, but the dealers in NY/NJ area were only discounting $500 if that. I learned about the Outlook on this forum. Never had stepped foot in a Saturn dealer before, mind you, I car shop for recreation. Well, The Outlook was basicallty the same car, same warranty, priced $1500 less. I then took delivery of a demo with 1500 miles. All said, I bought a basic XR AWD for $27000. Very happy with the Saturn experience. I still look at the Acadia on the road and am OK with the fact that I got my Outlook for about $3000-3500 under the Acadia sticker. The only concern I have is resale value of Outlook vs Acadia later on.
