Hello smalkin1. Please see my previous post...OK it was two posts ago but you get the idea...for the information that you're looking for. PFS' residual values for leases with only 12,000 miles per year are 2% higher than its 15,000 mile per year residuals. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

Re: New Cayman S Porsche Design [mpaige] by donc6 on Wed Mar 26 07:56:20 PDT 2008

Hello mpaige... If you want to see a really comprehensive forum, try caymanclub.net. But to your question. I went with the Cayman because of the mid-engine platform, more storage than a 911 (I can get two golf carry bags in the back !) and, frankly, more in my price range. New 911's start at over 85K.. and go up very quickly as you may have seen already. Porsche has intentially put higher horsepower into the 911 series -- it is their icon. OK, but the Cayman is a serious Porsche.. even my non-S with "only" 245 hp is scary-fast. I'm off to a trackday to let it stretch its legs even more. Sorry about the salesman -- try another dealer -- most of them are really professional.

Re: '08 Carrera November Lease Rates - Carman [kerb] by matthewdb on Tue Jan 01 16:21:08 PST 2008

OK, so after visiting my Porsche dealer and talking lease terms I am not happy. Basically they are looking for 1500+ a month for a stripped 2008 911 cabriolet on a 36 month lease. However, after doing some google fu I found leases as low as 900 a month. I was contacted immediately by one of these companies after requesting a quote. They want 8800 down, but payments would be 890 for a stripped 911 cab. I, of course, asked if they were closed-end lease, to which they said yes. However, they mentioned the word "multi-term" lease, where they amortize the cost of the lease over a longer term(however I can end the lease at 30 months if I so choose, with no penalties, or so they say.) Basically this sounds too good to be true. Can anyone help me understand why this company can offer such low leases and still make money?

Re: Cayman Lease Help [namshik] by Car_man on Tue Mar 20 02:33:03 PDT 2007

Thanks for the additional information, namshik. OK, so you're interested in seeing what the monthly payment would be like on a 36 month, 10,000 mile per year lease of a base 2007 Porsche Cayman without Tiptronic that has an MSRP of $50,196 and a selling price of $47,195. According to my calculations, this car's zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $715. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum

Re: 911 Carrera Coupe lease payments [gblind8] by Car_man on Wed Dec 13 04:31:13 PST 2006

No problem, gblind8. OK, so you're interested in a 2007 Porsche Carrera Coupe that has an MSRP of $74,000 and a selling price of $71,281. You're being given a $2,700 discount on this car. I know that Porsche dealers are heavily discounting leftover 2006 Cayman S and Cayenne models, but I am not personally all that familiar with what the market is like for the 2007 911 right now. Have you tried comparison shopping any? It might now be a bad idea to get another price quote or two on this car. The U.S. Bank money factor that you were quoted for this car is much lower than Porsche Credit's current money factor for it. As long as its residual value is close to Porsche Credit's then you would be better off leasing through U.S. Bank. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
