Buying a car from a Jeep Car Dealer
I am interested in 2011 Laredo 4x4, very basic w/o any packages. The dealer offered $30500. Is this price OK? I don't have any experience of buying new car and I am in boston. Thanks!
I'm going to have to gamble ... which is OK with me. It seems that, come January 2011, one will be able to buy a 2011 GC for roughly the same price as you'd pay for a 2010 GC today (factoring in rebates). I'm not about to pay the same for a 2010 right now. I'd need to pay a least a couple thousand less for the 2010, given that the media says the 2011 is so much better. I'll wait for September and see if the 2010 GC rebates have improved. Then I can check to see what the inventory of 2010s are like. If the rebate isn't improved, or the stock isn't there ... then no biggy, I'll just buy a different midsize SUV.
Currently leasing and have the option to buy for $17,000 (plus tax); 2007 JGC, X Package 4x4, 33k miles Runs well, and I had the dealer inspect it and they fixed a few warranty things but said otherwise it looked good. I think it's an OK deal (the CF website is showing a "discount" of $1,600) -- but it's like not blowing my mind or anything. I've seen some people here say their end-of-lease buy out dropped like $3-$4k from the original predetermined buy out price -- wondering why mine only dropped $1,600? Is it possible to negotiate these lease end deals at all? If so, how does one go about it? I think the only way I would walk away from this is if I can find a 2008 LTD for the same price. Getting a year newer and an upgraded trim level might be enough for me to go through the hassel of rolling the dice on a new ride, otherwise the X PKG that I know has been taken care of will be good for another year or two.
I am sorry based on all my posts that I cannot answer that BUT had to ask.. Did you get prices from multiple dealerships WITHOUT telling each one the others cost, if so how did they compare as that kind of shopping should give you an idea of how you are doing........At a glance your price seems OK but if you shop it I bet it goes lower... I am in the north east, My 2008 26x 4x4 NEW was around 27,600 including taxes and includes document/registration and gap insurance. I DID NOIT SHOP MY DEAL, long story..... I would say based on what I have seen thats ( my cost ) is high. The #518 post says they paid around 28,500 for NEW 08 limited loaded with hemi.. Does your your price include title and registration and taxes, if not add a few thousand to your #.. Also BE CARE FULL with the extended warranty options the dealers prices are HIGH... Good luck
Just registered on consumerreports website and you can pay 14.95 to get what they call bottom line car pricing.. Now I know with all this US car manufacturer stuff going on there are great deals if you are smart which I was not completly.. BUT here is what it says for what they are calling Consumer Reports CR bottom line cost for 2008 grand cherokee 4x4 23085 WITHOUT 26x package, the 26x package invoice is over 3000.00 so do the math..you have to add this to the 23k IF you dont work on the deal with at least 2 finanace managers in at least 2 differents places you are doing yourself a disservice good luck keep me posted.. If you got a 2008 with 26x package for 25K even before taxes I think U are doing OK
