Struggling to get a deal as well by hdfanatic on Tue Dec 30 21:44:34 PST 2008

Stopped by dealership in Lawton, OK (Fiesta Toyota/Scion). They had 2 xB's. 1 was an automatic with spoiler and a protectant package. They wanted $18500 and they would not budge. I walked. This dealership does offer a lifetime warranty on all new car purchases, but that didn't interest me much because i have never had to use a warranty on a toyota.

Showed the 2008 to wifey and she likey by mcmanus on Fri Jun 29 09:11:58 PDT 2007

We have 180,000 miles on a 2001 Sienna that we like a lot, due in part to a good Scion/Toyota/Lexus dealership. But it's a bit pricey to drive the van as much as she does, so I'm always on the look out for something cheaper when it comes time to replace it. Previously I'd brought home a 4 cylinder/FWD RAV4 which she liked well enough to replace the Sienna. As it would be about $4000 cheaper to buy, cheaper to service, better mileage, and probably better during our snowy winters, I was very pleased. As she works out of town I end up taking it in for service, but we happened to be nearby the dealer yesterday. So I pulled in to show her the new xB. She liked it! She was OK to give up room and the third seat! She even wanted to get it with a manual transmission! This would save another $5000 over the RAV4. The only down side is that I was thinking of getting it for myself (before we replace the Sienna) and don't want two of the same car.

Re: good price for 2005 tc ? [dragonsbum] by axiomowner on Sun Mar 26 07:43:46 PST 2006

$17,844 is around what you'd pay for a new '06 auto. (w/out the extras). But, the '06 has steering wheel mounted radio controls and the stereo seems to have better designed knob controls (my 05 just has buttons) and ipod connectivity. If you don't care about that, and you are going to buy the extras anyway, it might be an OK deal. Compare how much it would be to add the extras to a new one and see if the difference decides for you. Or, if you just like another color better. I've been reading that tC's have been fetching high resale amounts. They don't sit around long. You're post basically adds to it.

enjoy your 2006 Scion tC in Azure Pearl...automatic or manual transmission? They are super nice looking cars and it should hold up fine mechanically and hold it's value as well. Read up on the few complaints on the car if you haven't yet. They seem petty yet really bug some tC owners, you be the judge of your own tC ownership experience, obviously, and do chime back in on how your tC and Scion are treating you, OK? Enjoy it! :D

OK, going to show my ignorance....... What's a front strut tie bar? Do they keep the car more stable? I thought all cars built had them....(things that make ya go "hummmm")... Thanks for the info..
