Buying a car from a Infiniti Car Dealer
Took delivery last week of the above with Premium, trunk mat, first aid and splash guards. Not many out there, so I felt that I did fairly well at a price of $38,900. Three weeks ago, before negotiating, I did a dry run of what the car would cost through the AAA car buying program. Just for kicks, I ran the same numbers again today. The car is at least $500 more expensive now than it was three weeks ago. Today's AAA prices in my area range from $39,370-$39,870. So all in all, given the current climate, I think I did OK. Hard to negotiate with the loss of inventory.
Thanks for the additional information, montyscar. OK, so you're interested in an FX35 that has an MSRP of $49,295 and a selling price of $45,980. This truck probably has a spread of around $3,700 between its full MSRP and its dealer invoice price. This puts the $3,300 dealer discount that you were quoted at only a couple hundred dollars over dealer invoice, which is a good deal. Just bought a 2011 G37x with premium-trunk-splash-kickplates. $35001 for $40,740 sticker at Pearson Infiniti in Richmond, VA. Experience was OK, with a couple of rough spots. I discovered at closing that Pearson does not participate in the Infiniti maintenance plan program, neither selling nor honoring the plans. You should be very sure to check dealer participation before buying one of the plans from anyone. In my opinion, it's basically a dealer local plan with limited reciprocity, not a corporate program. Also, the salesman put my e-mail address into the Infiniti national database after promising to keep it to himself.
We purchased our 2005 QX56 from Infiniti dealer near Kings Island. Did the deal over the phone and traded in our Expedition at a good price. I thought that dealer, at that time, was very good. With all that said, INFINITI is no Lexus. I have a Lexus and valet service for maintenance is available wherever you brought the car. Also many of the dealer perks are NOT dealer specific. People do move. Infiniti perks ARE dealer specific. Only get all the nice stuff from the dealer you buy it from. I was DEFINITELY treated differently than if had brought the car at the local dealer. SO keep all that in mind before you drive 3 hours to get a deal on a car. I have been looking for a deal on 2011 QX since July. The end of the month/end of the year helped in making the deal. I also locked in the 2.9% before that seems to have ended. The dealer had to ship a car in that was Blk with wheat interior. Your best deal should be for one on the lot. Check out inventory at all local dealers and start shopping around end of the month. I got my deal at Infiniti of Bedford in Cleveland. Their initial offer on the car was OK, but you can always do better. The cars are leaving the lots pretty quick. The one I test drove was gone the next morning. QX with touring pkg is hard to find. Reading all posts and my own experience, you should be able to get $4000 off of MSRP of around $70k. Check edmunds etc for dealer Invoice and try for $1000 over invoice. That should be good for everyone. Hope this helped.
OK cool thx DB. I picked the car up @ this deal. I wans't interested in them holding my cash with MSD's. May be purchasing a home in the next while so i'll need it.
