They're certainly not going to calculate lease payments correctly for those leases that originate in NY, Ohio, or NJ in which sales tax is capped. Also, Ally Bank Smartlease calculations differ from the norm because (a) Ally uses an interest rate and (b) Ally discounts the residual value one month nearer to the present Leasse calculations can be quite complex depending upon how they're structured. The best way to examine the dealer's calculations is to ask them for a copy of their LEASE WORKSHEET. Thank you for the information. I was told today that Cadillac is trying to shift their business away from Ally to GM Financial? Are you aware of that? If so, any opinions? They said that GM Financial would be more competitive then Ally. They are obviously trying to sever their association I guess. At any rate, I was told that there was no $1900 only $1500 but that I shouldn't really be concerned about that because it was only about the payment.... I hate going through this every 3 years.
