2011 HUGE price increase in March???? by sharlo1 on Tue Mar 22 09:45:09 PDT 2011

My 2006 XLE with DVD was totaled in February. (no fault of my own). I just got the check from insurance and was ready to buy the new Sienna XLE with premium package. On March 4, I was able to buy it for 34,8. Today I was quoted 37,017! Holy cow what is up with this huge price increase? Honestly now I don't know what to buy! I have 3 kids and plan on driving this car into the ground...(like I planned on my last one) HELP! Should I rent a car and wait until April to see what incentives they may have? OR has the earthquake ruined any possibility of that?

Re: IS THIS A GOOD LEASE DEAL (AND NEW OR USED) [jayrider] by juliannm on Sun Mar 06 05:44:21 PST 2011

Jayrider, Went to the dealership and basically they said they take it or leave it. They can't keep the Prius in stock, in fact, they don't have any 2011 models on the lot (and won't have any for the next 3-5 weeks.) . They also had 2 CPO'S -- 2008 and 2009 for $22,100 and $22,700 -- both with 25k mileage. It doesn't make sense to me to buy used for this price when I can get a new for 24K+ which seems to include 2 years free maintenence? My brain hurts. Thanks for your help -- these forums are so helpful (also sorry for posting the lease question in wrong section) juliann

PRIUS 2010 LEASE RATE QUESTION by alowprofile on Mon Dec 20 20:37:47 PST 2010

Hi. I'm looking to lease a 2010 Prius for 3 years (wanna start the lease in the next week)... I'm looking to get the black with the sunroof, nav (gps) and black leather seats. I test drove one the other day and talked to them a bit-- I wanted to find out what I should be paying by doing my research first. My credit is great. I'm located in Los Angeles. Does anyone have an idea of what I should be paying a month, all together? I'd like to drive off the lot with zero down... but would be willing to pay the first month (and maybe 200 dollars more) at day of pickup, etc. Anyone have any idea what's the best deal I should be able to get (per month) for: -One with everything I said OR -One with everything I said, minus the leather seats (if that's possible)... If not, just the one with the specs I mentioned above. Thanks in advance for you advice.

Re: 2011 Base Camry w/6sp manual [bread8] by igozoomzoom on Sat Aug 14 20:00:25 PDT 2010

WOW! You got an AMAZING DEAL!!! I'm amazed that you even found one with a 6-speed manual, but it obviously worked in your favor! Technically, the Base, LE and SE 4-cylinder models have the 6-speed manual standard. But in reality, I've never seen a Base or LE with anything but the A/T....and I've only seen two SE 6-speed manuals at any dealer here in Georgia. Until just a few days ago, I thought the LE was only available with A/T! It seems odd that the Corolla LE is A/T-only, but the Corolla Base & S models are offered with both a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic??? Sidebar- Why did Toyota suddenly stop using the "CE" designation (which made sense) and now the base/standard models have no model designation at all- it's just Camry, Camry LE, Camry SE and Camry XLE now??? When I see Toyota Camry and no further model information, I don't know if it refers to the Base trim level OR the LE, SE or XLE and someone just forgot to include! Small peeve, but it's very annoying, IMO. Regardless of what they call it, the "Base" trim level is a LOT of car for the money! The Camry Base (Manual) stickers for $1455 less than the Camry LE (Manual), starting at just $19,595. The $1455 premium for the LE buys the following: Power adjustable driver's seat with lumbar adjustment Remote Keyless Entry Metallic-style interior trim with chrome door handle accents Power seat- unless someone else regularly drives your car and moves the seat around, a manual seat should be a non-issue if it's comfortable; with a manual height adjustment and tilt/telescope steering wheel, I've never missed a power seat Keyless entry- this is the only feature that I'd have trouble living without; luckily there are plenty of aftermarket solutions to add keyless remote entry for as little as $200 (but doesn't include remote trunk release, I could deal with that). Metallic-style interior tirm- If it's anything like the trim panels in the Corolla LE (which are also described as metallic-style), I'd prefer to skip them. They're just plastic with a silvery finish and they scratch very easily. Just curious, what does the Base have for the center console trim (around shifter and up center control stack)? Otherwise, the Base and LE are identical-looking. From the exterior, there is no difference in appearnce- same wheels, same trim and nothing cheap looking. The LE is available in four more colors than the Base- Magnetic Gray, Barcelona Red, Aloe Green and Spruce. But the Base still comes in Black, Super White, Classic Silver, Sandy Beach and Blue Ribbon. I'm surprised that Toyota has even offered the Spruce Mica for two years in a row....who'd want it? I've never seen one on the road or at a dealer, but the photo in the brochure is hideous enough....yuck!

Highlander Limited Pricing by razduck on Wed Jun 23 18:09:52 PDT 2010

My friend is near to deciding on a vehicle, and the Highlander Limited V-6 AWD is what she's most interested in. The MSRP is $41,870, what would be a good offer to make to the dealership here in Portland, OR area?
