Buying a car from a Hyundai Car Dealer
HI...PLEASE HELP US UNDERSTAND...WE AGREED WITH A DEALER FOR$200 (INCLUDING TAX AND MONEY FACTOR)...PLUS $1170 UP FRONT FOR BANK FEE+DMV FEE+DOC FEE+FIRST MONTH..... WHEN WE SAW A CONTRACT WE DIDN'T SEE A TOTAL FOR OUR $1170 ANYWHERE...OR THE NUMBERS FOR THE FEES WE AGREED ON...THERE WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT NUMBERS FOR EVERYTHING..... HOWEVER WE DID SEE $200 A MONTH FOR 35 MONTH.....WE ASKED TO PUT ALL THE NUMBERS WE AGREED ON AND THEY SAID IT DOESN'T WORK THIS WAY.....IS IT NORMAL???? WE DIDN'T SIGH THE CONTRACT AND LEFT...DID WE MAKE A MISTAKE????FIRST TIME DOING THIS))))
i would go for 23k even. give that number and walk out, see what they do OR email another dealer, and see if they can beat 23,500 and i bet they will. keep doing that back and forth between 2 dealers until you get to 23k (they will most likely keep going down $100 at a time, they cannot go lower by large amounts) i paid 25k for the same car with nav and thats around 2600 below msrp, your car is around 25000 msrp, so shoot for at 2000 lower and see what happens. your WORST case is that you pay more than 23000 but less than 23,500. its a win/win. if you really want to push it, try to get 2600 below msrp, but that might be pushing it too far and make them angry
Hi guys, I am going to buy Hyundai Sonata SE 2.4, without Sunroof, without Navigation System. I have $9,000 for down payment and dealer offered me this deal yesterday : Final Price : $22,200 (everything included) At 2.9 % Intereset for 60 months $9,000 + ( 60 Months * $270 ) = $25,200 OR At 3.9 % Intereset for 72 months $9,000 + ( 72 Months * $235 ) = $25,920 [Tax is 8% in my location] Now... I want to ask you guys this ; My wife wants to get "Pearl White" color instead of black and as you know "pearl white" color costs $200 extra. Should I negotiate with get "pearl white" Sonata at $22,200 (Price he gave me for the black) instead of $22,400 ? Asking $200 would be too much or not ? I live in Albany, NY and this $22,200 was the lowest qoute I got for this car without any negotiation... So what do you think ?
i called Hyundai Consumer Affairs. They told me that the extended 10year service warranty that i bought is NOT from Hyundai but from the dealer or some 3rd party. So, there is nothing that they can do about it if the dealer does not cancel on time OR gives me a hard time on this matter. Overall, it seems that Hyundai won't do anything to the dealer as after all they depend on the dealers to sell their vehicles. In the end, Hyundai and the customer lose in all this hassle.
I find all the above posts about trying to get the right car very "amusing". Car dealers are treating you guys the way they always have treated people when a new model is built that has "initial demand". Witness the last Thunderbird that Ford made, it was panned by critics, yet there were reports of people paying $10,000.00 over sticker thinking it was going to be a collector's item like the '57. Unless your in to self punishment (OR your car suddenly blew up) you should think about waiting. Hyundai's resale value is questionable in the marketplace. Why pay more than you have to? Give it a year and there will be rebates as always is the case with Hyundai. If you want to buy right now you deserve to pay whatever the market will bear.
