Buying a car from a Honda Car Dealer
I shop around for insurance every 6 months right before I pay for the renewal. Was with Geico for 3.5 yrs since they were the cheapest for me in Chicago (Progressive would come in at a few bucks more per month, the rest of the big ins co's would come in much higher) -- when I got the 2011 Civic LX, Geico wanted too much so I decided to switch to Progressive since they were the cheapest (Erie came in slightly higher than Progressive, but was cheaper than Geico) LM's quote was crazy (they wanted 4x the price of Progressive) and Amica wanted 3x the price. The other insurance companies wanted 1.5-2 times the price. I'm fine with using Progressive for the first year since they'll pay for new dealer parts if something happens to your car
Just a follow up to our V6 Accord purchase: I've found several really nasty threads regarding excessive oil consumption with this engine and Honda's struggle to deal with it. Our VCM has 650 miles on it now and hasn't burned one drop of oil. It was delivered with the oil level exactly at the max fill line and it hasn't budged. I saw a press release on the 2011s where it was stated by Honda that they had changed one of the piston rings in all engines and incorporated moly impregnation into the piston skirts. Maybe this solved the issue? I do note that my dipstick has a double seal--you need to consciously keep pushing it in to get a true reading.

$1800 under invoice on a Honda that lists for $24,330 is a good deal. Go buy it.
Nice car. I got $5000 off $30,180 list from the rural dealer which was $640 less than the next dealer. So, you are in the range, especially if you bought from your neighborhood dealer. What color?
