Buying a car from a Mercedes-Benz Car Dealer
NJ ML350 MSRP 56095 $576.84 42MTHS W/TAX $2184 DOWN INCLUDES INCEPTIONS ETC IS THIS A GOOD DEAL HAVE AN LEASE TRADE IN MDX SHOULD I FORCE DEALER DUE TO OVERMILES
I agree completely. They have made Mercedes vehicles one of the safest brands on the road. Luckily I have not had a serious accident in one, but I did in a Lexus GS300. Car was seriously damaged, 22,000 dollar worth. Was hit in the rear by someone going 70 mph and I was "stopped". I was hit so hard, I went flying into the rear of a truck that was 500 feet in front of me. Interestingly enough, none of my airbags went off, even though I hit the truck in front of me with great force. IF I HAD BEEN IN A MERCEDES BENZ AT THE TIME, THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE INFLATED AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED MANY MONTHS IN THE HOSPITAL!
Looks like a decent deal to me. Good idea to roll all the costs into the lease. This MF is about as cheap as money can get. Numbers seem to be right (for aorund 9%+/- tax) All the roll ins seem legit. bank fee is right, you left over lease payments are what they are, and title and registration are set too. The reason i like the roll in here is your monthly finance fee with that MF is going to be under $6. Seems like an outstanding way to borrow money to me, so why not roll everything in.
The dealer was Gurley Leep Motor Werks in Mishawaka, IN. I did the majority of the negotiation with their internet manager and had a great experience. If anybody wants more details feel free to email me.
What a minute!!!!! They want you to negotiate the price of the car AFTER it arrives!!!! RUN -- don't walk -- out of that dealer's showroom!!! How nuts do they think you are. NEVER order a car unless the final price is negotiated BEFORE you place the order. It doesn't cost them any extra to order your car EXACTLY the way you want it. Look up the invoice price (on Edmunds) of all the options you want, so you know exactly what the dealer paid for the car (don't forget to add in the cost of advertising to the dealer, as Edmunds does not show this due to differences by region of the country, ask the dealer for this figure, and verify with a couple of dealerships in your area). Then, once you know the true cost of the car, and ONLY THEN, negotiate up from the invoice...NOT DOWN FROM MSRP!!! Have them give you a FIRM QUOTE for the car IN WRITING, SIGNED BY THE SALES MANAGER AND YOU, the customer. Then, have them place the order for your new car. Never just trust a dealer on their "word" - they would sell their Mother if they could. By doing these steps, you will protect yourself from the dealership having "no recollection" of verbal terms, or changes in personnel or even changes in the dealership's ownership as well. Good luck!!
