Buying a car from a MINI Car Dealer
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and have leased several BMW's and know the ins and outs of that, but this is the first Mini lease I've worked on. I was at Nick Alexander Mini today and had an annoying experience--the salesman quoted the wrong money factor and residual and after some back and forth we decided to do a little more homework and check on some things. So here's what we came up wit in the negotiation: 2011 Cooper S Hardtop, Laser Blue w/sport, armrest, ipod/bluetooth, moonroof--MSRP $27,200. We pre-negotiated to $26,200 on phone. At 10K miles, with $725 acquisition fee rolled in and .00215 MF, payment was about $390 At 12K miles, with $725 acquisition fee rolled in and .00215 MF, payment was just over $400 residual is .62 for 10K and .61 for 12K (last months were .65 and .64 so we missed out). Based on the residual and money factor the dealer quoted, we expected the payment to be closer to $350, but I'm thinking we can get closer to invoice and that will help. Any thoughts on what a good negotiated price on this car should be based on the $27,200 MSRP? I saw a poster who went to the same dealer recently and got a $28,200 MSRP car to $26,000, or $500 over invoice and I'm thinking of going back and saying we'll do the deal at $25K or thereabouts.

Car man, Question: What is the base residual and MF for a 2010 Cooper S at 10K miles/yer? Also, are there any options that would boost that residual (for example quattro audi A4s have higher residual %s than non quattros)? I.E. what is the ideal optioned 2010 Cooper S for lease purposes? Is the MF ever affected by the options on the car? THANKS IN ADVANCE
Where: Indianapolis, IN What: Cooper S MSRP: 25,100 Lease: 36 months MIles: 15,000 per year Amt down: $0 Credit approved (good to excellent) - asked the dealer (in an email) the mf used and residual value - to which he didn't answer but shot back the monthly $ figure for this lease would be... $445 This seems high? Is it possible to derive the mf from the above info? Capitalized cost - is this the MSRP figure? Or are there other figures added (tax, fees, etc)?? Residual Value - is 68% correct? Would it then be 68% of the MSRP figure By the way, I replied back via email that the monthly was too high and that their mf being used must be too high - said thx for the help and that I would look elsewhere. He has since left a message to call him What is a "reasonable" amount to be paying monthly for the above setup? Thx in advance
Hi everyone, im new to the forums and new to the MINI shopping. My fiance and me need another car we are both college students and want a mini clubman. the one i priced out is about 22500 on the mini site. we are looking at doing the MINI select financing. this sounds and looks like a great deal especially for us college students. im wondering if anyone has had experience with the MINI select financing. we are looking at about a 6000 down payment. im also anticipating i will need a parent to co-sign with me, if they worry about credit checks. we are also going to order the car and im curious how long it takes and do they need the money upfront before they order it. ANY HELP HERE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED SINCE WE ARE GOING TO TEST DRIVE ONE HERE IN MILWAUKEE THIS WEDNESDAY. thanx, Jon
