How to get the $6k discount? by connoroh75 on Sat Mar 12 19:10:33 PST 2011

I see dealers in Central Ohio offering UP TO $6000 off a Sorento, and the ads say the buyer must qualify for owner loyalty OR (not BOTH) competitor bonus. I'm considering a V6 ($1500 competitor bonus), and would use the 1.9%, 48 mos., w/ $500 rebate. That would be $2k off msrp. An additional $4k off the msrp seems unlikely, even for the fully-loaded SX, doesn't it? Any thoughts--or better yet, anyone with personal experience--on this $6k discount, and what particular shenanigans are involved to actually get it? Thanks!

Re: New 2009 Optima SX- should I make an offer? [igozoomzoom] by csandste on Mon Sep 27 13:08:52 PDT 2010

That's $5 less than I paid in January 07 for a new 07 LX with after market leather and the appearance package. BTW-- since I have a nail in one of my 215x50x17 Michelins, I kind of wish I'd saved a thousand or so and cut the appearance package, although I like the instrumentation much better. Obviously you're getting a better sound, seating and climate system with the EX, but you're also getting a car that"s two model years older (within a month or so), will soon be outdated by a spectacular new car, and has 5000 miles on it. Also, 5300 miles is a bit high for a demonstrator. I haven't priced the Edmunds calculator, and I know the cost of used cars has risen quite a bit lately, but I think you're at least $1500 too high.
