Factory order by shepo on Wed Dec 02 22:04:33 PST 2009

Sorry to hear about some of the delays, but I'm guessing your dealers are potentially the issue as I just got my Nox today. Ordered 9/26, took two weeks to have the workbench documentation in mid October with a Mid-November build date and took a couple weeks for delivery and actually arrived yesterday. I live in Wisconsin for what it's worth. I'd press your dealer for the workbench documentation as I believe they get this after they place the order. Took a little longer than I hoped in 8.5 weeks as opposed to the 6 week estimate, but happy I went this route. Received a 2LT Black Granite with the Brownstone leather (which is really nice by the way), chrome, sunroof, 18" wheels. Didn't care for the programable liftgate (a lot of money for something that's un-necessary imo) or the navigation (I typically know where I'm going...or can pull over and use my GPS on my phone). Received both the college graduate student discount, conquest, and 60 day rebate refund that shaved approx. $2,900 off. My wife's in grad school and I had a non-GM car so we titled it in both our names to take advantage of both programs. Got it for just under $30k that included tax (5.5% in WI), title ($190), delivery($745), etc. and @ 3.8% over 5 years w/ US Bank (with very good credit) after a little jostling with the Finance folks at the dealer and a credit union. Nice smooth transaction and looking forward to my first commute tomorrow. Appreciate all the great advice previous forum posters provided as it helped educate me greatly on the process. Especially Waly and Elisa...thank you both very much!

Re: 2008 Tahoe [xogrady] by beach15 on Wed Feb 20 22:11:58 PST 2008

The cut-off date for 2008 model year orders is April 1st. After this, no more 2008's can be ordered, and April-May are used to build out all the orders in the system before the switchover. Then 2009 order banks should be open in May-June (information on them will be out next month), and 2009 production starts: -Janesville, WI (Tahoe, Yukon, Denali, Suburban, Yukon XL, Denali XL): July 21 -Arlington, TX (Yukon XL, Tahoe, Yukon, Escalade, Escalade ESV): June 23 -Silao, Mexico (Suburban, Avalanche, Escalade EXT): July 14

No problems yet by hydn on Sun Feb 05 14:19:57 PST 2006

Only 2500 miles and 2 1/2 months. No rattles. Biggest complaints... - Suspension is too soft side-to-side. When I drive 80 with a cross wind the car rocks with the wind. (light/tall car). Not that I slow down though :P - Small tires tend to spin on take off in wet conditions. - Standard tires do not grip well in snow. - Can't fold down the back seats with the front seats all the way back (like I drive). - Fold down rear seats not as useful as I thought to carry large things because of the rounded design of the hole to the trunk. - Center console would be nice to store stuff. - Shifter is imprecise. Bright spots... - Engine revs readily after 1500 miles in. Gives decent performance if you are willing to use it. - Front seats and front room are fine even at 6'2" 250lbs. - Vision out the front and back are very good. - Ride is good over rough country roads.

Gas Milage by hydn on Fri Feb 03 14:47:27 PST 2006

I only average about 26-27mpg. I got/get 12mph in 1997 Ford F150 and 22mph in Honda S2000 (2.2 liter 4 cylinder) in the same conditions. My driving is very mixed, city, 45mph country, and 65mph highway. My biggest problem is that I drive it like a sports car, which it is not. That means I rev it to 6k alot, drive 15mph over, and accelerate like I think it is a formula one car. I am sure I would get way better MPH if I drove it like most grand-mothers, but that is not going to happen until gas is $15/gallon. I have drivin in Canada, all I remember is going 25kph over the highway speed limit (in a P.O.S. rental car) and being passed like I was riding a bicycle. If you are driving over 65mph (100kph?) your gas milage goes way down.
