Buying a car from a MINI Car Dealer
Do you have a contact at the WI dealer you mentioned in your post a few days back? Im looking into a clubman and would be interested in where you heard about them discounting! I believe minis CG program is identical to those offered by BMWs. in the past they have done small discounts on rates for leases and purchases.
Cool tip! I hope this is the appropriate forum for this. International Autos of Milwaukee,WI has 2 automatic 2008 Clubman S models on the lot that are about $2500 off the MSRP of $29,000. Too bad thats still about 3k above my price range. Also, all they're willing to knock of the MSRP for a previous years model was $1000. That too in January 2009 for the 08 models.
Anyone know the current numbers for the base Cooper? Looking for 3 years, 15K miles per year. Dealer quoted me figures that suggest that it was ~68% residual and a money factor of .00250, but I think that might have been @ 12K miles.
You answered your own question. Get the Mini S. It's going to be economical, more fun, and you're single--can't think of a much better car for someone young and single--whoever you date will love the Mini too. In fact you might end up meeting people because of the Mini; probably not going to happen with the Altima. The Altima will have a leg up on reliability, but otherwise for what you're describing, I'd get the Mini without a second thought. But if you get the Altima, I suspect you're going to have a bit of a twinge everytime you see a Mini driving down the road. If you buy the Mini, and you see an Altima, I doubt you're going to have any second thoughts...
Although these are both great cars, they are completely different--I'm not sure why you'd be cross shopping an Altima with a Mini. You're going to have to sit down and make a list of what your priorities for you next car are--heck, share it with us here, and we can help you--but an Altima coupe is an altogether different beast than a Mini S.
