Buying a car from a Kia Car Dealer
We just purchased a 2011 Kia Sorento SX for $26,985 + Tax/lic/doc fees. Vehicle MSRP was $32,990, invoice was $31,085. Sale price was $1,600 under invoice, or a total of $4,100 under invoice including the $2,500 in rebates. Just wondering how we did in comparison to other deals? Also, finalized negotiations today on the extended warranty with the same dealer. I'm purchasing a 10 yr/100,000 mi. extended Kia warranty, zero deductible for $1,350. Dealer mailing me the contract today...how does that price look for an extended warranty? Thanks,
Purchased a FWD LX with Convienience and 3rd row. Paid $23,400 before $1500 in rebates and taxes...$23,500 out the door (6% sales tax in MI), so about $21,900 before taxes.
Hey all just bought a 2008 LX V6 from a Honda dealership in So Cal. The vehicle was a prior rental with 16,500 mi. Exceptionally clean. $12,200 Other than the ac compressor/oil pump knocking issue, no problems to report after 5 days. lol
Wow, I couldn't disagree more. The Sedona is well built. Toyota and Honda reliability aren't what they were 10 years ago. Other brands have caught up. Are the Odyssey and Sienna slightly more refined and overall a better van than the Sedona? Probably. Will the Sedona disappoint you? Probably not. The Sedona's safety equipment and safety scores are tops in the minivan class. No safety concerns with this van. Don't get hung up too much on resale value. Start with the actual purchase price, not MSRP. Percentage-wise, the Sedona won't really be any worse than its competitors. You pay less up front and your van will be worth less down the road.
Hello, thought I'd run this by everybody for some thoughts... I'm looking at a 2007 Kia Sorento EX 4X4 with Luxury option package. It is a demo with 5200 miles. They want to sell it for $28k, minus $3k rebate. I thought it was pretty laughable. I think I could probably get a 2008 for this. On sites like Edmunds I can't get a TMV amount for a new 2007 vehicle. And there aren't any values for Certified Used 2007's. It seems like there should be a deep discount on a car that's last year's model (especially since the 2009's are about 3-4 months away) and since it was a demo car that has over 5k miles on it, it's just hard to know exactly how deep a discount it should get. So here's my math, I want to see what people think: 2008 Kia Sorento (NOTE, 2008!) National Base Price: 24,790 Optional Equipment: 2,760 Destination Charge: 700 Total for 2008 with options: 28250 Subtract depreciation (10%, pulled out of the air): 2,800 Subtract mileage ($0.15/mi): 750 Subtract Cash back from Mfr: 3,000 Total adjusted total for 2007 model: 21,700 Thanks for any feedback.
