Re: Leasing an Equinox [Car_man] by seeingred56 on Sat Jan 01 16:45:06 PST 2011

Hi Car man, Sorry it took so long for my response. I was out of the market for a bit, but I have restarted my search once again. I am interested in a lease on a 2011 Equinox 1LT 4cyl FWD w/ drivers convenience pkg, 15k mi/yr, any time frame between 2-3 yrs. No money down at signing except TTL. Please let me know if there is any other helpful information you could provide - for example, what is the average reasonable amount able to be negotiated on the msrp? Should I aim for $1,500 for example? With only one lease under my belt (a friend helped) I am naive to the process. Thank you.

Chevy Traverse Lease vs. buy by marybethmcg on Fri Dec 31 15:32:07 PST 2010

I am thinking about purchasing or leasing a 2011 chevy Traverse 2LT AWD or LTZ AWD. I set out for my local dealership in NJ today and after much negotiation was offered a 39month lease with 15k mi per yr lease option for $450 per month. This required me to put down $2000 + they were giving me $3000 for my used 1999 Range Rover with 130,000 miles. MSRP on the 46,000. Does this sound like a good deal? They claimed they were giving me the car for $40,000 + I would receive a $1600 lease incentive from US Bank. I pretty much am thinking I would prefer to lease as our family is rather hard on our cars and always seem to want to get rid of them after 3yrs. I also want to keep our payments around $450. Appreciate your help.

2011 Equinox Lease by roboshap on Sat Sep 18 09:31:41 PDT 2010

I've been quoted $368 (tax included) per month sign and drive on an LS base model w/ leather interior, 15,000 mi, 48 mo. lease, but this didn't sound like a great deal to me relative to the actual value of the car. Anyone have any thoughts?

Leasing American Iron by altimate on Thu Aug 05 05:06:35 PDT 2010

I'm somewhat dumbfounded by the prices people are apparently willing to pay to lease the likes of this vehicle. It all comes down to residual value and unfortunately Big Three vehicles still have horrid residual values. The Equinox is supposed to be extremely popular yet the residual value on a 36 mo., 15000 mi. lease is 43%. My Subaru Legacy lease expires next month and it's my understanding that a new Legacy will lease for 36-15000 with a residual of 60% or more. That represents thousands of dollars in savings on a 3 year lease with identical cap costs. It's far more about residual value than cap cost when it comes to leasing. Also waiving a low payment at someone is a joke when they require thousands in cap cost reduction. Do people really think they are getting a deal just because the payment is low. It's like me saying you can have this car for 200/mo just give me a third of the lease payments up front (cap cost reduction). Makes no sense to me.

2010 Malibu LS Lease offer by mernelvia on Sat Jul 10 05:59:51 PDT 2010

I just received my pull ahead offer from GMAC on a 2010 Malibu LS. It is for $199 per month for 39 months with $2,079 due at signing, with a MSRP of $22,545.00. (Note: Disclaimer; Example based on survey...dealerships?!?). This offer is for 1,000 miles per mo. or 39,000 mi. total. The $2,079 due at signing (per example) is to include; Security deposit, tax, title & license along with "dealer fee's". My first question is; I thought if you had "excellent" credit that the security deposit would be waived. Is this true? Second: In another post you mentioned a $3,200.00 GMAC incentive that can also be used on leases. So I don't get jerked around at the dealerships, can you please tell me how this incentive would work if I was to lease a 2010 Malibu LS with a MSRP of $22,545 as in their example. Any help you can give me in dealing with the dealerships on this offer would be greatly appreciated.
