If you are in SE Wi, might as well drive to IL, you are not getting any good deals here. MSRP 27612, Shoot for 25650k for a prem w/AWP, plus similar add-ons. Dealer cost is 25143. Good luck.

The first time I had a place supply the synthetic oil they charged something like $10 a quart; overall the oil change was about $80. I later found Mobil1 at Sam's Club and it was $30 for 6 quarts. I just checked and depending on weight it's $32-33. Check with your shop; you may be able to save some money by bringing in your own oil. Even if they charge the automotive equivalent of a corking fee it's probably still cheaper to bring your own than to use theirs. And since the 6 quart pack is likely less than what a single oil change calls for, you're actually buying enough oil that every 4th or 5th change you won't have to buy any at all.

Yeah, I also won't jump someone's case for how they choose to maintain their car. My only suggestion is to make sure that the manual is followed for maintenance during the warranty period. Even if using synthetic oil, should there be an engine failure the automaker can refuse warranty coverage and legitimately cite failure to maintain the vehicle as a reason. It's because of that sort of thing that I use normal oil & follow the scheduled maintenance pretty religiously during warranty. After warranty I'll switch to synthetic & extend the intervals to what seems to make sense for me & the car.

When a buyer finances the dealer is paid almost right away by the finance company. Some have relationships with their "preferred" finance institutions where the dealer gets back a percentage (usually of the interest) so they can in some cases also make money on the finance side. Paying cash is convenient & reduces paperwork but does not necessarily benefit the dealer.

Re: Factory order? [timadams] by cptplt on Sat Nov 06 08:51:47 PDT 2010

dealers can always order from the factory for a specific trim/option combination, there is a cutoff date` the factory gives them each month to get the vehicle produced in the next months production schedule. I have done this twice. So at the least you may have to wait a little more than a month, or close to 2 months if you just missed the cutoff date. only other issue is that any factory incentives etc are whatever they have when you get delivery, not at the time of the order. probably not a big deal as they haven't changed much all year and usually only get better nearer to the new year anyway. pricing should be the same regardless of whether its on their lot, traded with another dealer or custom ordered, unless its been sitting on their lot for months and they want to move it and give you a big discount like the one painted fluorescent pink:-). the sales manager I dealt with told me they like factory orders as they know it will be sold, they will have little/no finance costs holding it on their lot till it is sold, it increases the number of cars they may be ordering that month which in turn has all sorts of upsides for them from SOA down the line in terms of future allocations/bonuses etc.
