Re: Hey Car man, do you know the current money factor on an Acadia? [sparty [Car_man] by jpetty on Wed Aug 29 15:35:34 PDT 2007

Hey Car_man, I think there is a typo in the reply you gave above. You mention "2007 GMC Acadia" twice, but give different lease rates. Is one of them supposed to be for a 2008? Which one? I've got a dealer quoting me 9% (or .00375 money factor) on a '08 SLT-2 with a 63% residual on a 12K/36mo lease. Thanks!

We live in Vancouver, WA, and I too have had a good chuckle over the perception in the local market that everyone has to have AWD. The locals seem to be just as clueless about driving in snow and rain whether all four wheels are driven or not, but that doesn't change the dealer's idea that there is no market for 2wd vehicles whenever there is a AWD option for a given vehicle. I just planned to buy it somewhere else - CA, NV, ID, wherever...makes for a good road trip on the way back. [None of the local Saturn dealers, for example, have a FWD Outlook, and even the Seattle dealers have too few to make the choice reasonable - but all have endless rows of AWDs to choose from.]

2002 Suburban LT, 47K miles, on the lot for 29500, bought for 26700, Edmunds TMV was 30200 'clean', 31000 'outstanding', and this truck was clearly leaning towards the outstanding. Immaculate in & out, obviously well cared for, but needed tires (at 47k that was no surprise). We were treated very well personally, professionally, and financially by Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho, a *very* high-volume dealership (1000+ cars/month, 75-100 on a typical summer Saturday alone). Complimentary hot dogs, burgers & sodas on an outdoor patio, no pressure, a bit of waiting (the busy Saturday thing), but still just one of the most enjoyable car-buying experiences I've been through. Cheers! Paul (temporarily sojourning from the Subaru Crew Boards)
