Computerized ordering problem, or am I getting hosed?? by hardin_thicke on Fri Feb 02 04:14:44 PST 2007

I get good news and bad news today. Good news is my Tahoe is on its way and should be here next week. The bad news is there was a pricing problem with my order. It was a Supplier Discount, but I don't think it was the cause. Here's the deal: My salesman with whom I am a neighbor of used some sort of GM online form to build the vehicle. The suppler discount is straight forward, and we sat in front of the PC together while pricing out the Tahoe. When he selected the LT3 option at the top of the form, all down the screen the boxes next to the items that go with that option were automatically selected with a price of $0.00. I get the total and it looks real good. So good that I decided to add the sunroof, someting I had left off to keep the price down. We shake on the deal, I leave him a check and I'm off. Now he calls today to inform me that there was a "glitch" in the ordering program which neglected to add the price of the LT3 option. The supplier price for this option is around $2800, and I have to absorb it, or he'd be happy to return my deposit because of the error. The order form the get-go had been tagged with "WA", will advise. He told me that sometimes this appears on the order if there is a pricing correction but that I shouldn't expect a great deal of difference from the order form price. Has anybody else experienced this problem? BTW, the price on the LT3 Tahoe with sunroof and locking differential, block heater, and heated washer fluid options was $41,550.

Re: Chevrolet Equinox: Prices Paid & Buying Experience [lee_w] by pdw on Mon Jul 04 08:54:13 PDT 2005

I took advantage of the GM Employee Discount Sale and purchased my Equinox about 4 weeks ago. I was suspicious when I first heard about the sale but when I discovered what I could buy the vehicle for, I was impressed! The mother of a good friend of mine bought a fully loaded Equinox in March 2005 and paid $5,000.00 more than I did. I paid $24,800.00 for mine and it has every extra that is offered. I have enjoyed driving it and have had no problems yet! (I have put 1100 miles on it so far.)

Second '04 Maxx by madmaxx on Sun Jan 02 09:30:22 PST 2005

I like my '04 Maxx LS so much I traded it for another, identical '04 Maxx LS(same color even). I racked up 14,950 miles on my Maxx since purchasing it early last August. GM Card sent me $2,000 bonus cash/credit for use against '04 GM ($2,500 for select '05's). So.. I took my '04 Maxx to the dealer and told them I would trade my Maxx for it's twin, new brother, plus my $2,000 credit--straight across, no cash. They quickly accepted! (Wished I'd asked for an 04 LT or 05 LS.) Bottom line: I drove a new car for 5 months and 15,000 miles for nothing other than gas and oil changes. The bonus credit expires tomorrow, so I'm out nothing. The only downside, is my new Maxx is a March build date, so I'll have to have the service department do all the TSBs. I pick up my newest Maxx tomorrow. Absolutley Amazing!

Dealer Trade--Local Dealer VS Inventoried Dealer by madmaxx on Sun Aug 22 09:06:15 PDT 2004

Beedublu-- You are probably better off just going to the dealer that has the car you want. Two reasons: 1) You can inspect and test drive the car before you buy--scratches, stains/burns in the fabric, etc. 2) Dealer holdback. The holdback (3% of msrp) is retained by the originating dealer, even if they sell it to your local dealer. This means that the local dealer cannot go as low as the dealer with the car in inventory. FYI, my dealer gave up his holdback to make the deal, and sold my Maxx at invoice price. MSRP of $22,305. Per Edmunds, invoice is $20,461 minus $669 holdback equals $19,792. I paid $19799, less $5500 rebates, for a total of $14,299 for my Maxx LS with floor mats. Hope this helps.    MadMaxx
