Buying a car from a Saab Car Dealer
folks, I've got a 2004 Aero 9-5 Wagon that has about 18 months to go on a 4 year lease. So far, unlike my prior Saabs, this car has been flawless. My question is, what should I do as far as the lease goes. If I keep driving at the present rate, I'll be at 62000 miles on a 48,000 lease. Also, my warranty is up at 50k too if I'm not mistaken. Should I try to get out now? Consider an extended warranty and try keeping it next year? Its about $10k upside down at this point. Thanks.
Jeff, Thanks for the tip that lease is now possible on military disc. Leased yesterday. Pulled ahead three months on 2003 9-3 Arc 2.0T 9-3 Aero Metallic Cold weather Auto (no manual in stock) Touring MSRP 36,265 Military price 31,0-- 500$ loyalty 27 month/12k 3.94% residual 25,022 (69%) Monthly 379$ (includes 8.8% WA tax) 0$ drive-off It's a totally different car than my '03 9-3 Arc. Thanks, Roy
Hi Car_Man, Thanks for managing this forum. Great info! This is my first lease and first Saab. Have read all the info here on Edmunds and am now seeking some answers as I go into the leasing process. Do you or does anyone know the money factor and residual value for '06 2.0T Arc Convertible? I'm also wondering if GM is still offering "employee" price discounts to the general public. Thanks in advance.
Make sure the car was maintained properly with the right kind of oil, that's important for the longevity of the motor as well as the turbo. Check to see if the car doesn't smoke when accelerating, a sign the turbo is on its way out. Check to for any clunking noise when shifting in/out of reverse or 1st gear: it could be a bad motor mount (they are expensive to replace). If you get a 9-3, make sure you use a high quality full synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 and have the spark plugs replaced at 20K at most Saabs have a patented knock detection through spark plugs, only the right specs NGK spark plugs gapped correctly need to be used (check the owner manual for more info)
