Re: 08 Limited [kkelln] by miller_09 on Thu May 21 07:52:58 PDT 2009

Hi Folks, Just wanted to let you know my buying experience. I just found this blog/chat today. Boy I wish I had known about you folks earlier. I just bought a new '08 Limited (40 miles on it) with only a few bells and whistles on it, the Nav system, Uconnect, backup camera. No DVDs or other extras at all. I bought it from Ferman Chrysler in Lutz, FL. I cannot recommend buying from them. I paid $31,500, tax, tag, everything, out the door. It sounds like other people are finding better deals.

Re: is this possible? [justynthyme] by larrye98 on Tue May 19 13:55:42 PDT 2009

Yes, it's possible. The dealer I bought my van at has 1 van left on the lot: 2008 Chrysler T&C LX with 10,000 miles on it approx. They have 1 on the lot. Without trade-in, it's $12999. I'm sure you could offer $14,000 firm & they'd accept. This is in Kissimmee, FL by the way. You could fly over, buy it, spend a few days at Disney, & drive home.

Purchase Attempt 2009 Chrysler 300C by robw64 on Sat May 02 15:16:21 PDT 2009

Because of the advertised Chrysler incentives and the federal tax program I decided to send out a few internet quote requests for a 300C. The online inventory showed one at the dealership in my city with everything I wanted (inferno red, genuine wood interior, fully loaded). Their internet quote came back with an excellent price ($8k under MSRP), so I set up an appointment to test drive the vehicle today. I was surprised when I was told that Chrysler Financial is no longer writing any loans at all, so the zero percent financing advertised through May 4 is unavailable. I hadn't seen that announced anywhere. In fact, I came home and looked on the Chrysler Financial website to find they are still accepting applications in the space right below the "We are not in bankruptcy like Chrysler Corporation is......." announcement. With excellent credit (no joke.....my rating is in the top 2% of nationwide scores) the dealership quoted me 7.99% for 60 months. My local bank is offering 5.49%. I was offered $18,500 for my 2007 loaded Lincoln MKX. Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book both state a trade of approximately $24,500. I am realistic when it comes to car buying and I know it can be somewhat of a game. I am also aware they aren't giving their inventory away. However, I wasn't expecting such an extreme attempt at screwing me over at this point in Chrysler's situation. It's a beautiful car and I would definitely have considered driving home with it had the offer been reasonable. Oh well.

Help! I'm a first-time car buyer (I usually lease) in Miami, FL and want to make sure I'm getting a good deal. I'm supposed to go in tomorrow and do the paperwork, but I wanted to check with the knowledgeable people here before going ahead with it. 2008 Town & Country Touring Signature List Price......$33090 Being Offered at......$23924 plus tax and tag. Is this a good deal? It seems OK to me, but then again I don't know much about this kind of thing Please help!! Jennifer Seems like a good deal, 27.5% discount off MSRP isn't too shabby. But, it doesn't hurt to try to negotiate some more. See if they can give you 30% or more off MSRP or let 23924 be what you pay OTD (includes taxes & dmv fees). It's your call.
