Buying a car from a GMC Car Dealer
I don't know where you live but you need to consider Fitzmall in MD. As for your second car request, their website has a 2011 GMC Acadia; Internet Price: $38,650.00 MSRP: $44,330.00 Style: AWD 4dr SLT1 Obviously their deal is way better than whatever you're getting where you are. Understood that this course of action isn't for everyone but I would do it if i could save over $4K on a must have car.
If he's trying to "dump his inventory" he will need to be much more aggressive than that. Offering $4k off a $62k vehicle almost nobody wants is not going to make his inventory disappear very quickly. Offer him invoice minus all incentives and see what else he'll throw in--maybe a $500 gas card.
Don't walk--RUN from those deals. Go to GMbuypower.com, locate Acadias in a big city and request quotes from several dealers. Make sure that you tell them that you are aware of all rebates and incentives (and do the research first). Cash for Clunkers is not coming back anytime soon, so GM dealers should be happy to get these things off their lots. For what you're looking at paying, you could get an 09 Acura MDX or a CX-9 with lots of change back.
If you don't plan on keeping it a long time, then I'd stay away from it. REAL trade-in values on the Acadia stink. $22K is probably less than book trade, but try getting that from a dealer. You might think about test driving it over to Car Max and asking what they'd give you for it. They tend to be pretty reasonable. If the number is more than 22K, then you might have a good deal. If you do plan on keeping it for a while, then the trade-in value is less of an issue but I'dthink about an extended warrant. Whatever you do, get a CARFAX report and have a mechanic check it out. Good luck!
Without knowing the actual pricing, it's tough to say (MSRP?). If your deal includes TTL and all fees, then it's slightly better than the advertised deal (MSRP $32515). GM is not known for offering good lease deals, so this one seems relatively attractive.
