Buying a car from a MINI Car Dealer
I was able to get $8200 off my 2010 convertible purchase at the end of Oct. $6300 off MSRP from the dealer, and $1900 in the form of an incentive from Mini for attending one of their events. The dealers in the DC area (4 of them) all had from 1-3 2010's in stock. I checked recently, and they are all gone now. Hopefully you can find a 2010 somewhere.
If anyone is still looking for a 2010 Mini Cooper Convertible, you should be able to get $6300 off retail. I was quoted this from 2 different dealers in the area. Best of luck!
The standard 15" tire is the only one in the MINI line that isn't a run-flat. Some of the guys at the store maintain a bigger wheel will give a better ride. But the shorter,and therefore stiffer sidewall of a larger tire has to give a slightly rougher ride.
Power is very subjective.For me, even though I am a salesman at a MINi dealer and am around them every day, I actually prefer the base Cooper(manual shift). I don't find it the least bit pokey; moreover, I find the turbo whistle on the S a little tedious. But, as I said, power is very subjective. And avoiding run-flats by specing the 15" wheels is very appealing to me.
