Re: selling used xb [johnnyb11] by aatherton on Wed Mar 29 10:12:51 PST 2006

I saw a used AT xB on a dealer's lot with 1,500 miles indicated on the sticker. I asked a salesman for the price, and he said $21,000 but they might knock off a couple thou. Some people will apparently pay considerably more than MSRP + Fees, in order to avoid waiting for a month or two. Your asking price of $16,500 for a 2004 with 16,500 miles evidently not low enough to compete with a new car. Two weeks ago I paid MSRP + $500 Fees for a new MT xB. I did not want a warranty, and disregarding the tax, the cost was $15,000. I had a waiting period of four weeks.

If you visit scion.com it will tell you everything that is standard. Floor mats are not but it does have keyless entry along w/numberous standards that aren't usually offered for base models. The standard options are quite impressive! And no I didn't get anything free...except for the Toyota college grad program they have right now! Always check incentives! I paid $199 for mt dark tint and it is guarateed for the life of the car as long as I own it! :) Dealerships usually offer $2000 or more below what you could get sell your car as a private seller. If I were you, go to the dealership and see how much they will give, if it is acceptable to go- take it, if not try to sell it on cars.com or other sites and see if you can get someone else to take it while you are waiting for your car to come in. You can check on KBB.com to see what your asking price should be around. The part you have to factor in weighing on what you should do is, that if you tradein your car, that portion is NOT taxed. So if your only private selling it for a couple hundred more, then its not worth it.

Bought Mine Yesterday by geekay on Sun Apr 03 19:16:03 PDT 2005

I bought mine from Tyson,s Corner, VA yesterday. No options, 0 down, 4.8 %, 279 p.m. 60 months. Only sore point, took 4 hours to install the wheel covers and stereo. No haggling but i should have tried to bring down the dealer processing fees etc. Good thing was that I got to test drive an Xa and an Xb in yesterday's s :) tormy weather. Both came out on top (both 5 spd MT). The Xb won because of space and more unconventional looks. We have a Vibe AWD which replaced my wife's 92 Corolla in 2004. I know my next car will be an Xa and I am 49 years of age. Possibly the series 1.0, can any one share their experience of these limited series?
