Buying a car from a Nissan Car Dealer
Bought our xterra (off road) 2009 at the end of march for invoice (consumer's report invoice matched) then the $2000 rebate. Don't forget you get taxed on the $2000, whatever your sales tax is. We had a tough time finding the Off road model and I called dealers from Colorado, UT, MT and OR and finally found one within 200 miles of our home. We LOVE IT. The Nissan dealer we went thru (internet thru edmunds) was a breeze to deal with. My husband said when he picked it up it was 20 mins tops of paperwork and all the numbers matched what we had agreed up. Good luck.
wow!! that is a great price ofr an OR MT. WOW again!!! I bought an 05 SE black for 25.3k, before TTL. I crashed head first two months ago and looking to sell it or trade it in cuz i know front end collisions are the worst thing to happen to SUVs one uses for off road terrain.
Got '07 Off-Road MT with all the options except for upgraded stereo for $23.5( + Dealers fee + taxes) out of the door. I went thru the fleet manager so all negotiations were done over the phone (took about 30 min) and all papers ready for me to sign and loan approved by the time I came there to pick up the truck. It took him couple of days to get the vehicle from a different dealer and I was out of there in less then hour and a half.
I am new to the forum, but have been reading avidly what you all have had to say for several months. I had salivated over the Fits six months before they even got to showrooms, but now refuse to beg to buy a car. So, I have explored several options, including the Scion xD and the Versa. I really want a hatchback with decent or better fuel economy. I'm looking now at the inventory of 2007 1.8S HB, MT, and wondering if it is even possible to buy one of these (or even a 2008) without power DL, W, etc. Maybe an odd question, but I drive a 1990 honda civic wagon (alas, great engine, but lots of things breaking) and a working radio is a luxury for me! Although very convenient to have these upgrades, I wouldn't particularly miss them. I am also looking to keep the price as low as possible. Plus, seems that Power DL, W, etc. just are one more category of things that can go wrong. Finally, if the Power Package isn't really an option, then why not make it standard? FYI, I live on Long Island and am looking at dealerships in Suffolk County here. Would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks! that does clarify a lot, Nissan needs to clean up the option process IMHO. For me the basic list I require includes at least a V-6, 6MT, Leather, Dual Zone Climate Control and Nav. The only cars that really hit that mark under 30k is the Accord EX-L at ~25k + TTL and now the Altima hopefully near your price of ~29k + TTL. 4k is a lot for push button start and bluetooth, but I yet to drive either car but I imagine the Honda drives like the TL, which is awesome. I can live without bluetooth, as I rarely touch the phone while I am driving....but if someone calls I would like the option to answer without any distraction(I never go past 10 seconds on a call when I am driving) and finish the call as fast as possible. As far as the VDC, the Accord has VSC standard on the EX V-6 models. One other requirement I have is relaxed freeway cruising, which tosses out the infinity G35. Right now we have 2 Nissans, a 01 Sentra and my 98 Maxima SE, both with manuals. Both run high RPM on the freeway which is annoying in the Sentra, and wastes gas in the Maxima. Although the VQ is an awesome motor, 3300 rpm for 30-45 minutes a day has got to take a toll on the engine life. I do plan to move to shorten my commute, but for now I have to drive 50 miles a day. By my calculations, the Accord and Altima should achieve about 2750 RPM at my target speed. Even with all that said, no dealer in my area has either car with this equipment list, let alone a color I like, so it may be a moot point. Again, thanks for your imput! :D
