I'm located in St Louis and spent the past two weeks checking all the car buying services for the best price (Amex, consumer reports, cars direct, capital one, etc.). Actually ended up with the best deal using true car.com. I didn't even know they had a zag partnership and didn't even have to sign up for anything. I did, however, have to play around with different zips from different nearby major cities to get the best deal. Ended up with an msrp of $48,280 and a dealer in Chicago giving me $2,000 off right off the bat. True car puts this in the "great" price range so I couldn't be happier. 3-4 months and I'll fly up there to drive mt new baby home. I highly recommend investigating the different group buying services and experimenting with different zips if you are willing to travel a little to get the best deal. It should cost me less than a hundred bucks to get up there. Not bad when I couldn't get any of the three dealers in St Louis below $500 off MSRP!

Re: End of Term 2007 A6 lease question.... [bmwaudi2007] by borno on Sat Feb 13 05:32:45 PST 2010

A little skeptical of your situation. Obviously things can break here and there, that doesn't kill the benefits of owning. Although I agree, I'd lease new over buying new any day. I usually buy a year or two old,(certified) and keep it over 6-7 years. That's hard now given the great new technology that keeps coming in this newly competitive industry!. So, I need a car asap; mine was totalled. Off duty cop turned into my line, no injuries, his fault. Got $7.5K for my 00 A6,2.7TQ,MT. Loved it. It was only worth 2.5K on trade cause of bad cats. I'm between a 08 A6 4.2, it has sport suspension(a must), and is certified. Stickered around $64K, and asking $43K, a decent discount from sticker, actually saw two similar cars both with low 20K miles on them. I am also a good lease candidate, though I've never leased B4. (low annual miles, business write off, take car of my cars, like newest tech toys) So my two questions: Lease new, and have a decision to make in 39 month or buy used and keep long term? If I leased new I'd go with the 3.0T, maybe chip it after the lease if I buy it out, or the used 4.2?, great natural engine pretty good discounts on cars, but older tech HELP.......thanks in advance for ideas suggestions or comments Still love the cayenne gts.stick, but have finally come to my senses...lol

Purchasing a Leased '08 A4 6MT SE edition by whitty26 on Mon Jan 04 11:51:11 PST 2010

Hello, Contemplating buying a car from individual that will be coming off of lease. Below are the particulars, but was curious to try and figure out the buy-out value to understand their bottom line. Anyone know what residual value rates were for that model year? I know that mileage matters, but having even a range helps. KBB Good pricing is $25.7 Edmunds clean is $24.9 2008 Audi A4 -6 MT -AWD -S-line (Actually window sticker says "Special Edition" which I believe is different) -Sport Package -Convenience Package -Bose Premium -Ipod interface -Heated Seats (front) -Heated Mirrors -Fog Lights -Sunroof Any thoughts or advice are welcome and appreciated. Thanks, Whitty

07 A4 2.0T CPO by stirfryguy on Mon Sep 07 09:36:44 PDT 2009

I'm looking at purchasing a CPO 2007 A4 2.0T either AT or MT... whichever deal I find I'll get. I'm looking at Fred Lavery in Michigan and here are the following specs: Price: 25,495 Milage: 21,500 AT Sunroof/Premium Package. Any other information I have to call for. Is there room for negotiations on this car? I also have a Audi/VW Friends and Family coupon. Am I able to use the coupon on used cars? Thanks for a great forum and the help.

You've pulled the trigger, why worry about it now? Hopefully you'll enjoy the car enough for the price paid. Your Chicago market is bound to have more than 1 dealer I have in my area (no competition). I ordered an S5 last Aug, arrived this past Jan. No deal whatsoever, in fact, paid a premium. Regrets? None! Car I wanted = car I got & it's been superb 1st 3k miles. Basically, I wouldn't waste time worrying about a deal that's already done. Hope you enjoy your car as much as I do!
