I assume you are driving an I4 auto. Isn't that rated 31 hwy which would make your mpg only 3 better than estimate? Still darn good mpg though for a mountainous trip at over 70mph. Also, I don't know exactly how the EPA estimates city driving but I doubt it uses the extreme example of downtown Atlanta or Chicago or LA. Probably some sort of combo of big city/small city so real congested areas will get a little less mpg and downtown city driving like Des Moines, IA a little better. That's why they say "your results may vary".
I just purchased in Des Moines a 5 spd 2009 SE Sport for 15.5k. This is cheaper than buying a used 08!
Got my 2009 Escape on Wednesday. How fun. Courtesy Ford was awesome to work with. It took 10 weeks and two days to get it. My dealer picked it up at the rail head as I had to go out of town the next day. Love, love, love my car. The most frustrating part was that it sat in Des Moines 3 1/2 weeks after it was completed. There should be a faster way to get a vehicle after it is made. Good luck to all of you who are waiting for your vehicle, may it be shorter than mine.
They were advertising a similar deal in my area. I'd rather have a sedan and am currently haggling with a few dealers to see what they can offer me. I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla that I plan to trade-in for roughly $8,000. The closer I get to that $10,000 mark, the better. I figure I will trade up this year and then trade in the Focus in a few more years once the warranty is up and cars can get 100 mpg or something ridiculous. Cheers!
Your comments are helpful. I got a quote today on the Limited w/ Nav, Vista, White Tricoat, Plower liftgate, towing, sat. radio, cargo management (can't figur out what that is), all weather floor mats. Dealer quoted (Costco) including des. charge for 36,696. I can get 1500 off or get 1.9 interest. Oh, i told him I don't want 20" wheels for almost 900. What do you think? After reading everyone's costs this price is TOO high.
