Re: Insurance coverage for an 2011 LX or EX is ridiculous [wbr99] by jatan on Mon Apr 25 21:07:21 PDT 2011

I shop around for insurance every 6 months right before I pay for the renewal. Was with Geico for 3.5 yrs since they were the cheapest for me in Chicago (Progressive would come in at a few bucks more per month, the rest of the big ins co's would come in much higher) -- when I got the 2011 Civic LX, Geico wanted too much so I decided to switch to Progressive since they were the cheapest (Erie came in slightly higher than Progressive, but was cheaper than Geico) LM's quote was crazy (they wanted 4x the price of Progressive) and Amica wanted 3x the price. The other insurance companies wanted 1.5-2 times the price. I'm fine with using Progressive for the first year since they'll pay for new dealer parts if something happens to your car

Re: Incentives [rowdy6] by indydriver on Sat Mar 19 14:14:17 PDT 2011

I helped my daughter purchase a 2011 EX-L V-6 (no-nav) this morning. This car lists for $30,180. We got an internet quote of $25,180 (yes, that's $5,000 off list) from Terry Lee Honda in Avon, IN (just west of Indy-ask for Scott Clugston at 317-272-1000 or just make contact on their website and he will respond). We went and bought one this morning. Apparently, there is an unpublished factory to dealer incentive of $1500 per Accord for the month of March. Add 0.9% on top of that and it is simply an incredible deal. I was told FICO needs to be 710 min to qualify--but the dealer can appeal if you have a nice downpayment or co-signer. Also, a note about White Diamond Pearl. This color has been DISCONTINUED, although there are still a few cars on dealer lots. This is the color we wanted but, they only had the new white pearl, Orchid Pearl and we took it as the next closest dealer was +$640. The Orchid Pearl is a brighter white but still has that shimmery pearl coat look. Beautiful car, great deal, great dealer, great salesman. BTW, this is Scott's everyday price for March-no haggle. But why haggle when he blows the four Indy dealers out of the water? Go for it.

Re: Lease on a DX-VP, LX and LX-S difference [no_to_co] by Car_man on Wed Feb 09 15:51:24 PST 2011

Hi no_to_co. Honda's money factors are the same for all Civic trim levels. Honda Finance's February buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 Civic is .00076 for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Super Preferred" credit tier. The 36 month, 12,000 mile per year residual values for the vehicles that you mentioned are as follows: 54% for the DX Sedan, 58% for the VP Sedan, 61% for the LX Sedan, and 60% for the LX-S Sedan. Lease on a DX-VP, LX and LX-S difference by no_to_co on Mon Feb 07 11:27:16 PST 2011

Car_Man: I’m about to get a Civic and was wondering if the lease rates are different between the 3 different trims? Honda’s website does not say that there is a special lease available for the LX-S trim. Only for the other two. Are the money factors and residuals the same? (looking at 36 months, 12K a year.)
