Buying a car from a BMW Car Dealer
Nothing down, just fees (bank, doc, registration and plates) about $1100. It's a NJ dealer through a NY leasing co. I didn't care for a diesel engine, although I did hear good things about it. To qualify for a Loyalty rate (0.0011) you need to be BMW FS current customer. Every additional security deposit reduces your MF by 0.00007, there is a limit of 7, which adds up to a reduction of 0.00049.
See this post: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=476977 Basically, under lease terms, there are certain items you may owe the leasing co for (excess wear and tear, milage, etc.) and you are, theoretically, responsible for regardless of if you have made any secuity deposit -- so you would end up putting money out either way. With MSDs, you are just loaning the elasing co the money for the term of your lease and buying down the interest rate you are paying on the lease. It makes complete financial sense.
Carman - I negotiated the following deal and was hoping you could let me know what you think: 2011 535i with Xdrive Black Sapphire Metallic Oyster and Dakota Leather Dark Wood Trim Premium Package Cold Weather Package MSRP $56,550 Selling Price $52,600 (includes $1500 holiday cash) Residual $32,775 Money Factor: .00225 36 month/10k year Monthly payment before taxes $719 Thanks for any help and insight you can provide...
The lease starts when you take delivery in Europe.. BMWFS picks up the 2nd payment of the ED lease, but the money factor for leasing is .0003 higher for ED, so that isn't really a bonus.. No car provided while you are waiting for re-delivery.. Your daughter can't take delivery of your car, unless she is a co-lessee.. no exceptions.. You can still save some money on an ED lease, but it makes more sense for a straight purchase.
If the car salesman were honest from the beginning then there wont be any hustling involved, but its not the case these days. Personally I would bargain for every single penny cos I know its my hard earned money. I hate the fact that some sales people say (specially luxury car salesman) that you are not buying a toyota so dont bargain! This is just BS. I'm sure the same salesman would be using coupons to buy groceries and would hunt down the best deal when it comes to his turn to buy a car. As one of the other members said it, Edmonds.com forums has helped me and thousands of others to be prepared to listen to all you car salesman BS talk and get to the bottom of it. So please stop playing mind games and be honest from the beggining, maybe u'll sell more cars then. If you want to bitch about a forum like this create your own thread so all you dealers can go there and start bitching. nuff said.
