Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
I'm in CO looking to get an MDX with Advance package. My understanding is that the dealer cost (invoice - 2% holdback) on this car is $46,760. So if I am calculating correctly, an offer that yields the dealer a 3% profit would be $49,023, which is the dealer's cost + 3% + dest charge of $860. Of course, my OTD cost would include taxes/registration, but as far as I can tell any other additional fees are just add-ons to the dealer's profit, right? Am I being too hardball here, or missing anything? So far the offers I've gotten have been closer to $51,200 (pre taxes/registration), so I want to make sure I'm not being too crazy in thinking about it this way. Thanks!
So I'm getting an offer for a new base tsx for $25,562.23 and after TTL (and fees) $27,550. The only thing included is tint and wheel locks. That price does not include the $500 AmEx gift card offer, which essentially nets the offer to $27,050 DO. I've searched far and wide around Texas for someone to beat that price but I just can't find anyone. Do you guys think I should wait for more cash to dealer from the manufacturer? Does anyone actually think the dealer will increase the holdback money from $1250 (plus $500 GC) to more than $1750, which will make it worth the wait? Also, has anyone in NM, OK, AR or LA gotten an offer cheaper walkout than this? All of these Southern states think it's a good idea to have ridiculously high sales taxes for cars and I'm not about to drive to CO for a few hundred bucks. I really appreciate the help!!
Sounds like a good deal we just bought a 2008 CPO Sport with Tech and Ent package, running boards and roof rack for $37,800 but it only had 9500 miiles on it.
you mentioned that the MF (money factor) is 0.001320, I hear that if you multiply this number by 2400 the result is the % of the interest of the money lent by the leasing co...which is the difference between the residual money and the selling number...so I hear...I can not find the % by doing the above multiplicatio...what am I doing wrong?...any experts around?...help appreciated...thank you all
Hi everyone, Looks like we will be a first time Acura owner Monday if all goes well. After looking at new 2010 base models and some used we came across a 2008 Sport with the Entertainment and Tech package. It is Black with the Taupe interior and also has running boards and the roof rack. Here is the really good part it only has 9700 miles on it and we got it for $37,800 which from what I can tell it a pretty good price. Now for the bad part it’s at Jay Wolfe Acura in KC and we live in Denver…. road trip! Our sales rep has looked it over twice and says it’s in excellent condition, we are still waiting on pictures but have read the Car Fax on it. If all goes well we will leave here on Sunday and drive it back on Monday.
