Buying a car from a Chrysler Car Dealer
I just got the deal of a lifetime. My 2008 300c has a sticker price of 46k. I was looking for a dealer demo online and found one up in San Francisco. I couldn't believe the price when I saw it. This car only had 9k miles and was fully loaded. I mean to the hilt. Even the back seats are heated. My final price 24,999. Here is why these prices have gotten so low in California. I spoke with the dealer who told me that a bunch of Chrysler Dealers in Southern California have gone out of business. Here is the good part. They can only sell their inventories to other Chrysler dealers at auction. Since most dealers are cash poor there are only a few dealers who can afford to buy up the inventory thus creating rock bottom prices. They were not only buying demo's but new cars as well. They showed me a few other cars that were new that they bought for .50 on the dollar. I live in the Los Angeles area as was afraid of buying the car online but it was a snap. I made the deal on the phone, hopped a flight to San Fran. The dealer picked me up at the airport, took me to the dealership, filled out the paperwork and six hours later I was back in LA with my new car. I would suggest to anyone who is doing this to make sure all your financing is done before you go. Also put a small down payment with your credit card. By doing this they can't sell the car out from under you. Also make sure they send you via email the official quote down to the last penny so you can have it in your hand when you get there. This will avoid any funny business by the finance dept. I wish you the best of luck. I will be sitting in my car watching cartoon network on my Sirus satellite TV if you need me.
Steve White Motors in Hickory, NC has 40 on the ground to move - 25 new 2007's and 15 new 06's. I just made a deal on a 2007 LTD Coupe - auto/nav/asp tires/ 2-tone interior for $13,825.00 off MSRP. Could not get them to discount anymore, but they also dropped prices in eBAY as of yesterday on a few of the models listed. Lee's Summit Chrysler advertises 15,000.00 off msrp but adds destination charges back in. Spring CDJ in Spring,Texas; Landers in Bossier City, LA and Helfman's in Houston also are discounting in $13,000.00 +/- range Hope this helps any perspective buyers willing to travel to get the best price.
Just follow the same steps as I did below and you should get a similar deal. My out of pocket is $1500 (first months pymt + Acquistion fee of $700 + doc fee + tag fee). You might be able to roll some of this into the lease if needed, but do NOT put any money down as cap cost reduction. 1) Go to CarMax.com (they sell new cars also) and pull up a new 2007 300C SRT8 (LA, Atlanta and Orlando are their Chrysler locations). You will see that CarMax is offering the 2007 SRT8's at around $5000 off MSRP. 2) Send the CarMax quote to your local dealers. Tell them to match or beat this price (amount off MSRP). 3) Once they match or beat the price, use the links below to calculate your payment. Ensure that the dealer does NOT mark up the money factor and gets you the correct residual. The 12K residual is 2% above the 15K residual. I completed the above steps in about two days and got a great deal. 300C Lease Rates Lease Calculator
Mrdrifty, Unfortunately, the dealer I quoted is on the east coast, so I'm not sure about west coast dealers. But, you should still get the payment much closer to $500/month. Check on carmax.com. They have new 300C SRT8's at their LA dealer for $7000 off MSRP. And you can lease from them also. Print it out and force your local dealer to match the CarMax no-hassle price.
ok, so you are then actually paying $1k over invoice, since they are using $1k to pay off your current lease. I'm not the least bit surprised they are throwing in the screen, in this case. They are still making decent money on the deal. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all. Sounds like you are down to maybe $600-$700 over invoice at this point. That's not bad. I don't know why a limited doesn't come with the rear video screen, but it doesn't. That's a la carte car building for ya.
