Buying a car from a Volkswagen Car Dealer
Car Man, Thanks a lot for this info. Dealer was quoting me 0.00087 for MF so this info would help. I am looking to buy the car either from my state NE or neighboring state of South Dakota or Illinois. Let me know what cash incentives I can expect in these state. Thanks, Rahul
Hello Marc: If you are purchasing a car thru the Supplier Purchase Program - it guarantees you the best purchase price, Period. You will be buying the car for Invoice plus any available offers, whether you lease, finance or cash. Now in regards to the lease, the residual value is set by VW (model, term and mileage will determine that number) and can not be changed - the money factor, much like any interest rate has a buy rate and a retail rate. The Dealer may adjust this number and still granting you a great deal. The dealer also may choose not to participate on the Supplier Program altogheter, so talk to your salesman an put him to work for you. I'll be delighted to work some numbers for you - if you live in the Midwest (IA,MN,NE,IL,MO)
Costco Consumer Advocacy reported they do not have their 2010 price sheet yet from cooperating VW dealers to get the $500 under quote for 2010 models and it could take 3 months. He said I should consider my $100 over invoice with no dealer fees offer as this is a good offer considering supply/demand on this model. I did email your Seacoast dealer. Although I live in South FL, my family lives in NE. Did you order your Tiguan or get one off of the lot? I am ordering.
i think the WE was 279/mth before taxes (or 275). taxes here in NE Ohio are 7.5%. not sure about the money factor, but evidently it was either on par with what VW is using or even better, given the bottom line lease numbers. i don't have any specific figures on the civic si - just going on the price that i received at jay honda in bedford after getting competitive quotes on line and again re-confirmed in person with the sales schlep. i recall the price of the si on which the lease was based was around $18,500. what i did was use edmonds quote request, got tons of quotes on line and put them against one another. the most upfront dealer got my business. all the others whom i told were way out of the park from the most competitive quote said they'd match the best quote. i simply responded that my loyalty goes to the dealer that is upfront in offering the best, most competitive quote from the get go. if you are looking for a WE, i'd get on it soon. i got the last one in the region, but my other lease broker said he could get me whatever i wanted (not so sure about that given the ltd edition). he also quoted $279 w/o tax $0 down
Ordered the car last month, arriving by end of Sept., production in progress, awaiting VIN. Dealer in NE PA is Wyoming Valley Motors in Wilkes Barre. They get two diesels every month and have sold out their allocation until Feb 09 even before the first model came. I live in Metro NY but the dealers here (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, VW) all want 5K over MSRP for hybrids and diesels, if they are even available. Cash upfront even before they will order the vehicle, and as what happened to me with a 2009 Camry Hybrid from Lee's Toyota in Jamaica, Queens, they ordered one for me and when the car arrived, they gave it to someone who gave them more money.
