Buying a car from a Infiniti Car Dealer
Anyone know why buying a new vehicle in Fla is more expensive than Georiga or New Jersey? It is a supply and demand issue at your local dealer. Generally if there are more dealerships in a given city, they are more willing to discount.. If you only has one dealership in town and they are selling every car they get with full MSRP, it is hard press to think that you will get any discount. Also there are regional preference on different model cars (e.g. 4 wheel drive is propolar in NE but hardly needed in California)...
Use the used car estimators on Edmunds.com, KBB.com and Cars.com. Be accurate in your description of the car and come up with the average of the three for trade-in value I beg to differ. KBB and Edmunds used car price are worse than useless. They don't take into account of price difference between different part of the country. AWD is popular in NE and command high price there. But it is not very popular in California. Why do you think a single KBB/Edmund price can accurately tell us what the used car price is? The best way to establish used car trade in price is what you ask your daughter do. Take the car to multiple dealers and ask them to make offer for it. This will establish a market for the car and it is the best price you can get from the dealers in your area. Mixing car selling and car buying is never a good idea. The one that will offer the best price for the trade in car is the dealer with the lowest inventory of the used car. The one that offer the best price for the new car is the dealer that has the most inventory of the new car and desperate to sell them. The two has no corelation. It is best to sell the car first to the highest bidder and then buy a new car from the best offer from all the dealers in your area. We did just that for two cars we owned. An 05 CLK55 convertible and an 08 LS460. My wife call multiple dealers (Mercedes dealers for the CLK and Lexus dealers for the LS) and let them bid for the car.. The price difference between the highest and lowest are very wide.. Why limit yourselves to only let one or two dealers bid on your car...
Sorry these are the correct numbers that the dealer sent to me which seemed to be very high. MSRP: $45,190 Sale price - $42,920 Bank Fees - $595 Doc Fee - $199 NE License Fee -$1,265 Net Cap - $44,979 (42290 + 595 + 199 + 1265) Residual(63%) - $28,469.70 Total Depreciation-$16,509.30 Security Deposit- $0 Depreciation - $423.32 Rent - $146.16 Cash on delivery- $569.48 Term- 39 months/ 12k per year Subtotal - $569.48 + Tax
I called 3 dealers apart from my local dealer today for my 2011 G37x loaded with Prem, Tech, Nav, Sports, Interior Accents package, Illuminated kick plates etc. MSRP is 45190. I got 2 similar best offers very close to 42200. I am planning to lease this car for 12K miles for 36/39 months. Offer details: MSRP: 45190 Cap Cost:44240 (Selling price 42200 + NE Licensing fee 1240 + Bank fee 595 + Doc fee 200) MF: 0.00179 Residual Value: 63% Term: 39 months Miles: 12K Sales Tax: 7% Down payment : First month payment Monthly Payment: 534.51 + Tax Is this a good deal? Anybody know about the state (Nebraska) licensing fee? I never heard this before. Also let me know if they are using the right residual value, as Carman stated that the Residual Value for 15K miles is 62%. Apparently the dealer has no idea about the MSDs. He said that Infiniti financial services doesn't offer any other ways(such as MSDs) to lower MF. What I heard from these forums that some dealers doesnt know these MSDs option. Could some body help me to figure a way to use the MSDs. I am willing to put 7-8 months MSDs to lower my monthly payments.
Just completed negotiations on a new 2010 FX35 yesterday - the car is being shipping to NE Ohio from Chicago. I will get it next weekend. MSRP $53320 Deluxe Touring Pkg, Navigation Pkg, Premium Pkg Moonlight White Pearl with Graphite Interior Final price $45310 (15% off MSRP) Traded in a 2008 EX35 with 67500 miles (other than the high miles, in great shape). Got what I consider is a fair price for the trade. The high miles was the big issue - we couldn't find another sale out there at the auctions with more than 50k miles. I actually had been looking to go back to Lexus for an RX350, but found dealing with Lexus to be a nightmare - talk about stereotypical sales people - ugh!!! I had concerns going back to Infiniti because the dealer I had bought the EX from was a train wreck. Luckily, a well established dealer group came in and bought the local competition Infiniti dealership and they are wonderful. This will be my 4th Infiniti - the first 2 were bought in SW Ohio when I lived down there - a great dealership with great service. I just wish Infiniti would offer the option of a wood trim steering wheel - I see they do have one in the new QX56 (it's actually a wood insert, not a wood wrap like the Lexus), but I don't need to drive a $70K car that is as big as a house!! Looking forward to getting my new car next weekend. And for all of you NE Ohio Infinti owners out there who are fed up with the incumbent Infiniti dealership, check out the new dealership (near the airport - hint, hint). I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
