The short answer is yes. You could by a new car from a dealer in the next state or a used car from a person across the country on eBay, and you will still be subject to the taxes and fees in the state in which you register the car. I live in RI, and I only wish I could buy a car in MA or NH and register the car in those states. Much lower taxes and fees.
I can't speak for better deals in different states where you are. I live in RI and I look at dealers in RI, MA and CT. I can tell you that you will pay sales tax in the state in which you register the car.
we have a 44,200 quote on a tech, now squabbling over roof rack-dealer says his cost in 650 in the rack-does anyone know if this is right? we think we should be able to do better than this, but 2 other dealers in our area say that they can't do better than this, does anyone in the mass/ri area have any suggestions?
just had a dealer in ri give us a complete brush off, not even a civil reply, when we got an email from him telling us he had some due to arrive soon, we have one on order with a great boston area dealer, but asked him if he could do better than 44,030-we got back a 3 worded reply!!! no nice salesmen like reply or sorry we can't -so am wondering if this is a fluke, or is it just business as usual with inskip acura??? really 3 words-better buy in boston.......
