Good question. I am seeing more 2008-2010 BMWs on the road, but not 2011s. This forum really helped me work a good deal on my 535i a couple of years ago. Maybe others are lurking . . .

1st, let me say great job on getting 6% off MSRP. How hard did you need to push as my local dealer in NC wont go any higher than $2,000 off an MSRP of slightly over $55,000. This is mainly due to little to no competition in my market. The one question I have is why are the leases on the 5 series are so high right now. My friend recently leased a new M37s for $650 a month with a total of $650 down (39 mos, 12k per year) with a 54,500 MSRP. I take it they are highly discounting the M's which is why they can offer such a competitive deal right now (and they may not be selling well). I am just finding the local BMW dealer not willing to discount as much as others I have seen on this forum. Your deal looks real good to me. I read on some other posts in this forum about giving multiple security deposits to lower money factor, but not sure if that is of interest. Good luck!

Best Dealership to buy by blackfx35 on Sat Dec 11 12:39:54 PST 2010

I live in Charlotte nc, so only an hour plus away from the performance center/factory. I plan on ordering a x5d with performance center pick up. As such, I am wondering if in theory I can purchase it from any dealership without having to actually step foot in the dealership - not concerned with where it is since I will do performance delivery. First question. Does it work this way? Or is there something I am not thinking of here (taxes, etc). Second question. If this is doable, what dealership do you suggest....obviously one that is particularly price aggressive? Thanks so much.

We bought a certified pre-owned 2008 BMW 535i last October. The car is a joy! Maintenance costs so far have included an alignment, at the cost of $175 -- which is high for that service. Otherwise, a little indicator light comes on telling us to get service, we go to the dealership, and leave without paying a dime because, frankly, we have already paid for the service in the purchase price. The plan is to trade up to a 2011 around this time next year. Without hesitation. Allow me to suggest buying the lowest miles and only from a reputable dealer who will stand behind the car and help you advocate if there are any warranty issues. All dealerships are not created equal. Go out of town if you must. Also, after the test drives, we did almost all negotiating via e-mail. Much more pleasant.
