Buying a car from a Kia Car Dealer
This forum has been pretty dead recently, but does anyone have any recent experience in purchasing a 2011 Sportage LX AWD. I'm looking for pricing information on said model with convenience package in the CT area. Thanks!
Here in Milford, CT, just picked up a 2011 LX FWD. Dark Cherry exterior and Beige interior. Convenience package, 3rd Row, mats, and remote start. The sticker says $25,310 with delivery included. I paid $24,585. Minus $2500 in rebates (NY auto show, loyalty and the standard), the final price was $22,085. Out the door with all the taxes, conveyance fees, etc, was $26,588 (not including the rebates). Monthly payment will be $340.
Yea, you know, I was hoping you'd respond! I've read all your posts. I was on the fence about the leather. I've survived so long w/o toasted buns and that stuff does get hot in the summer time, I don't always blast the AC in my vehicles. I just didn't think that feature was worth $1k. None of the dealers I spoke with had the cars -- they had to get them. This one came from CT. Whoever wrote about the motherload in PA was right. One of the other dealers was ordering me one from PA and they decided to get a "truckload" so the PA supply is dwindling...I knew I had hit a wall when 2 of the 3 dealers walked at $15,900...This was my first car buying experience and I have to say -- I didn't like it one bit.
I purchased a new 2008 Kia Sedona LX with DVD, power doors, roof fails and carpeted floor mats for a OTD price of 20,000 in CT. The sales tax here is 6%. I called all the dealerships in CT. Most of them quoted me a price between 23,000 to 25,000. The 2008 LX models with 5K discount are running out. Only 2 dealerships had the Red exterior and Beige interior I was looking for. The dealerships did not show much eagerness to negotiate. What do you guys think? Is it a decent price? I have seen people getting better prices in the forum. Has anybody gotten a better price in CT recently?
Boiler: Yes, we still love the car, and the more we travel, the more enjoyable the ride, comfort, and feeling that we got a lot of car and warranty for the money. This might be our last new car purchase for ten years/hundred thousand miles as we will be in our seventies by then and I do not believe we will be going out for another vehicle. Also, I have one problem with the acceleration, and it seems others are having the same/similar problem which as of this post, does not seem to have a solution or TSB from Kia. I am just waiting and hope it will not cause an accident for me or the others with the same problem. You can see the posts under 'problems'.
