Buying a car from a Cadillac Car Dealer
It took me hours of calls to get this down to a reasonable price. So here goes: on a 2010 Cadillac SRX with the following options: 1. Luxury package 2. Premium paint ($1000 option) 3. FWD * $2400 down (including first month payment) * 39 months (shouldn't go over 48 months; why go higher as you'll be out of bumper to bumper warranty) * 12,000 miles per year * about $475/month (not including taxes) Note: there are no other expenses that you should have. Moreover, you should receive $500 back at the end of the lease which is a GMAC escrow with-holding. Now, a few things to consider: Lease options: ____ months ____ miles per year $___ down (including all fees and first month payment); no drive-off fees $___ to be held in escrow until end of lease monthly payment $___ (including tax $___ at ___% tax) Early termination fee: $ ___ (if you want to buy it before lease expires Wear and tear allowance: $ ___ Residual Value (end of lease buy price/no disposition fees): $ ___ (plus $2500 can be added to buy option by GM) Close ended lease ONLY (this means they can't modify the buy out price if the market shifts and the value of the car drops includes gap payment/insurance: included with all GMAC leases We were lucky to find a great dealer (Hennessy Cadillac in Ga). They offered us a vehicle that was used as a demo (had about 2500 miles and was fully loaded including DVD and NAV). We got an excellent price that NO ONE could even come close to; I will not post the price as it's not a common thing that can be obtained from all dealers. I was very impressed with their professionalism (as some dealers were very pushy and demonstrated poor knowledge of their product). So, I am giving them a plug here. Hope my wife enjoys it. :)
Hi kb2010. The MSRP and dealer invoice price for this truck are available over in the New Vehicle Pricing section of Edmunds.com. Let me know what these numbers are for the truck that you want, exactly as you want it equipped, and I'd be happy to work up a sample payment on it for you using GMAC's current lease program. I see that you are considering making a $10,000 down payment on this truck and leasing it for 72 months. Both of these things are bad ideas. Let's address the down payment first. I always advise consumers not to make large capitalized cost reductions on leased vehicles. Those who make them risk losing part or all of them if their vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen and never recovered. Even though it means that your monthly payment will be higher, it is much safer to go with a zero down lease. As far as the term goes, you would be much better off with a shorter lease. General Motors is only providing lease support on this model for up to 48 months. If you lease for any longer than that, you will have to do so through an independent bank and miss out on the special 0.5% lease rate that GMAC is providing on 36-month and 1.45% on 48-month leases. Also, It is very expensive to get out of leases early and six years is a long time to lock yourself into one vehicle. A lot can happen between now and then. Your commute could change causing you to go way over or way under your mileage allowance, gas prices could shoot up to $8 per gallon causing you much pain at the pump, you could just get plain sick of your truck, etc... Another problem with leasing for a long time is that your warranty will expire well before the end of your lease. This means that you will have to pay money out of your own pocket to repair any issues with your truck before returning it at lease-end or risk having to pay a penalty for excess wear and tear. For the same reason they drive an SUV with gas prices nearing $5 per gallon.
any help on negotiating my deal? try to do it at end of April? start at Invoice only? try to end up at 2% over that? I want the white diamond ultra luxury w/22"'s and sunroof escalade. With gas at 3.59 gallon, what kind of neg. will I have? I will pay cash and have a 2002 trade-in. I went to Car-Max and they only offered $10,500 for it! Boo!
