Hey mamac3. Of course, it's always difficult to predict exactly what automakers will do with their future programs, but I personally highly doubt that we will see any support on the Insight until the Japanese automakers get their plants straightened out and gas prices drop significantly. Hi sport flyer1. Honda Finance is not currently providing any lease support on the Civic. As a result, if you were to lease one through Honda Finance right now, you would have to use its standard lease program. Its current buy rate standard lease money factor for 36 month leases is .00200 for consumers who qualify for its top aka "Super Preferred" credit tier. A money factor of .00200 is equivalent to an interest rate of around 4.8%, which isn't bad but isn't amazing either. Normally I would say that a savvy consumer who is in an area that has a decent level of competition would be able to beat a manufacturers' advertised payment like this, but given how high gas prices are and the supply constraints as a result of the Japanese earthquake I actually think that amazing deals on the Civic are going to be hard to come by right now. I contacted the internet manager at OURISMAN. It is as simple as going on their web site. They had an add out last week for $21,995 plus freight which is $750 and were waiving the $100 doc fee. At the $22K and change that some lucky person grabbed - that is a great deal. Honda's are mostly put together here in the USA - and they want to take down Toyota and push HYUNDAI aside. The supply disruption shouldn't be a big deal and now with the Bin Laden issue behind us, the potential for falling gas prices is far greater.
Car Man - I understand that Honda just pulled the plug on all support for the 2011 insight as well. Do you think we will see it come back before the 2012's get released? The mf on these looks pretty bad right now so not sure if I wait it out or move onto another model. (At this point the leaf lease is the same as the insight lease- and the money saved on gas will pay for the charger installation) - what's a girl to do?
I live near Charlotte. It may be worth your time to contact: Lauren Salinas or Eddy McKenney-Salinas Honda 800-665-0013 I haven't seen anyone yet on this Forum that has gotten a better deal than they gave me in October on a 2011 EX-L. However, the parts shortage and the fact that they sell their Odysseys very quickly may have caused the pricing to go up. Gas Prices may help change that. Tell them Jim Graham referred you, and let me know if ya'll are able to make a deal. Good Luck and be agressive. I think you'll find them great to work with. No BS.
