Buying a car from a Mercedes-Benz Car Dealer
Went to local dealer today test drove ML350 gas and diesel models. Gas is underpowered, but diesel has nice pickup. 2012 ML 350 gas getting engine hp upgrade should help. My deal for ML350 bluetec was 4,000 off MRSP which included loyalty and conquest cash. My opinoin is this is a terrible deal as others are getting 7,000-8,000 off. Next dealer here I come.
Just wanna share... bought a new ML 350 AWD on Mar 30 2011... with the following specs: ML 350 - 4Matic Capri Blue Premium 1 Option Wood steering wheel heated front seat side step aluminum board (can't remember what's the name of the item) pre-wire back seat entertainment MB-tex seat msrp ~$56,700 invoice ~$53,300 (like i care) paid (before tax) $49,000 i told them: 1. gas price is $4.30/gallon... i need some incentive to buy this bad boy 2. the 2012 model is coming in Oct... i can wait.. or you can help me decide to buy it today 3. i found out that the dealership (in San jose, ca) is owned by publicly traded company .. Autonation... so, they are very motivated to meet their Q1'11 target/quota. i hope this is a good deal because you always feel that it isn't. :(
Just purchased 2011 350GLK for overseas delivery. Included 2 for 1 airfare on Lufthansa, 2 nights in 5 star hotels, a 7% discount from MSRP, transfers from airport, lunch, a tour of the factory, insurance for 2 weeks to drive in Europe, AND no destination charge. Price for 2WD (moving to Florida Gulf coast) with sunroof and HK audio package was $35,000. Dealer also gave us top book for trade in of 2007 base Ford Edge (for which we paid $20400 4 years ago) leaving a balance including tax, etc. of approximately $21,000. My wife and I are picking up the car in Stuttgart, traveling to the Brenners Park hotel (listed as one of 1000 places to go before you die), then we have booked two additional nights in moderate price hotels on the Romantic Road and will drop off the car in Munich at the Bayerischer Hof hotel. MB is paying the cost of the first and last hotels (approximately $300 per night). We are then travelling by train to Rome for a 9 day Mediterranean cruise on Royal Carribean. Including $250 train fare for two and two additional nights in Rome (at our expense), the entire trip, excluding some additional cost for food, gas and miscellaneous is approximately $4100 for TWO. The car is shipped to the dealer and we will pick it up a few weeks after we return to the states. By using overseas delivery you can spec the car without option packages. A friend of our daughter's returned recently from picking up a C class and she said it was a once in a lifetime trip. We are looking forward to both the trip and picking up the car. If you have the time and elect this option, I recommend that you schedule the trip and pickup in the shoulder season for Europe when the weather is reasonably good but airfares, hotels, etc. are far less expensive, e.g. early April or early October.
Does anybody know the current 24 and 36 residuals and money factors for both diesel and gas E350s? I'm being told it's a 78% and .0023 on the diesel, and 72% and .0023 for the gas at 24 mos, but need the 36 mos. figures. Thanks
I am confused with these three options below. I currently have good offers for these three models but wanting to see which one is better in terms of reliability, mileage and cost factor. 2008 R320 CDI - 22K miles - 38K plus TTL has extended warranty for 100,000 miles up to 2013 April (P2 Package) - MSRP 58K 2010 R350 Bluetec - 8k miles - 44K plus TTL and the original factory warranty up to 2014 June (P1 package) - MSRP is 61K 2010 R350 (gas) – 6K miles – 43K plus TTL and the original factory warranty up to Sep 2014 (P2 package with lots of nice options) - MSRP $62K Please let me know what you guys think.
