Buying a car from a Chrysler Car Dealer
Several days after telling me to drive carefully to Illinois (to get my $17K 08 coupe-auto with nav), Olathe (KS) Chrysler sent me an e-mail.....$23K for a CCC. / $20K for a coupe. These may be new 07s or 08s. zip 66109 & you'll find them on Chrysler's website. They have 12 left I think.
At this point, you should be able to buy for no more than invoice with you keeping any incentives if there are any in addition to the 0% for 72 months. The 2008's are already in production and should be arriving at dealerships by now. I have tried to lease a new Aspen but the residual is so bad that they are not attractive to lease at all.
My lease on a 2005 Dodge Magnum is expiring soon. I have already gotten a mailing telling me I am preapproved for a new lease or loan up to a certain dollar amount, which is enough to get any new Chrysler or Dodge product. I bet if you call or check your lease account on line you may well find that you are also preapproved. Check it out and good luck. I cannot imagine they would run off a customer who has made timely payments to them for 3 years.
What about part time four wheel drive. Why is everything new AWD. I am less concerned about the added weight than about the frictional drag of running the four wheel drive system all of the time. I could be wrong on this, but I do not believe that you can buy a small SUV which is part time four wheel drive, other than maybe the 4runner. Even many of the full size SUVs are going to AWD and then you really pay at the pump. I have a 4x4 Suburban which I have put just over 50,000 miles on. I might have had it in four wheel drive for 100-200 of those miles and that was over four winters in KS and eastern WA.
My dealer here sold my Magnum RT to me for $200 over invoice. I had no trade. Similar deals can be had on 300C. SE KS isn't that far from Houston.
