Buying a car from a Mazda Car Dealer
Not sure if you've made this purchase yet, but I don't think its a good deal. CX9s have started to flood the pre-owned market due to the lease program vehicles. Additionally, the CX9 doesn't have a great a resale value as say a Toyota Highlander. This past week I purchased an 08 CX9 touring with rear entertainment system at 52K miles from a Mazda dealer. Car was off a lease and in extremely good condition. Asking price was $22,500 and I purchased for $19.499 + TTL. I believe this price is below the wholesale value of the vehicle which is $21,500. Its not as nice as the GT but it does include leather interior and many convenience options not found on the Base. For about another $1K to $1.5K you can have an aftermarket Kenwood or Alpine stereo with GPS and back-up camera installed. I wouldn't buy a vehicle with cosmetic damages as its an indicator the vehicle may have some other internal problems. Also were you purchasing this vehicle from a Mazda dealer? If not, you probably won't have as good a support system if other problems crop up. Oh, purchase was made in MD.
But, you are ranting against what is common practice.... not just Mazda. Oh, the dealer let me know and it's deceptive no mater common practice. Call it cash price and price with dealer financing, OK. It just is not 0%. :) Regards, OW
Shopped around last week via email/phone for 2010 CX-9 either Sport or Touring. Specifically indicated I wanted the price with the financing, (not the $3000). On Christmas Eve went to the dealer with the best price, test drove, and wala...oh that price doesn't include the financing. They jacked up the price and I walked out. Went to dealer with next best price and made the deal on the spot. 2010 CX-9 Touring FWD, Dolphin Gray/Black, no other options OTD = $29,950 Took delivery today. Happy with the result!
I own a Mazda CX7 2008 GT AWD. 1. I've driven 49k miles in 3 yrs. I put 87 octane, what ever is cheap, no specific brand of gasoline either. I was told I can put regular gas by dealer in NYC / Long Island when I bought my car. I bought my car Dec 2008 for invoice price at that time. 2. I love the turbo, oh did I mention I own a Honda CRV 2007 LX? Now if you want to know about borrrringggg, I can tell you how my crv drives... get the cx 7 with the turbo engine, you will have fun.
I'm guessing they have the freshed exterior and interior? My local dealer is suppose to have a 2011 S GT (listed as a 2011 on their website) but when I saw the front end it looked exactly the same as the 2010. I emailed Mazda's customer service rep and they did confirm all the changes such as the new look, steering wheel, piano trim and so on. In any case, what's the MSRP on a 2011 6 S GT with Nav and Tech? My choices probably comes down to a fully loaded Sonata Ltd Turbo or a fully loaded 6 S GT. Going by the 2010 prices the 6 will come out about 3K higher on the sticker and shorter warranty. But I do love the way it drives and th growl from its V6 Oh choices....
