Buying a car from a Acura Car Dealer
Thanks to all of you posters as you assisted me and my wife with our purchase of our new Acura mdx. Got the advanced at $ 48k (plus tx and license) and added a warranty for 100000 miles 8 year, no deductible for $ 1850. (It was a good trade off of me getting a good price/ purchase and they still made some money too.) And for Calif this was amazing. However, when we walked into the dealership I had printed out what all of you excllent posters had presented here and the salesperson noted the three pages of posts as we sat down. He was an excellent "old time" salespersn and he did not try in any way to play games, but then he observed the paper work I brought with me. We got all the extras and are very satisified with the process. Oh as an added bonus, we also got two tickets to the movies, "Thor" for this next tuesday evening. My wife and I will dine out and then take in the show. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR EXCLLENCE AND SHARING-IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Good luck to all and stay safe. jensad
Just bought a MDX w/ tech for $43,386 before T&L from Autowest Acura. No other accessories. Acura of Serramonte has one for similar price (but includes wheel lock and tri-fold cargo mat). But they did not have the color we like. It turns out LA dealers did not have to pay $300 advertising fees. So the LA dealers were selling the same car for $42K. Oh well...
"Oh, and in case it matters....I'm actually a woman. And I love my 6 speed"....Ditto.
I feel that mine is a really smooth ride, and definitely has balls. I did notice a very slight rattle, but have forgotten to have it checked at the dlrshp the last couple oil changes (I only sporadically notice it......so maybe it could be the sunroof? but sounds more like a door panel to me). We did have to have the plastic under the navigation screen and above the air vents replaced because it didn't "seat" correctly, which the dlr did w/o issue right after we bought it. Probably my least fav thing about the interior is the silver (plastic-y) wrap around material on the dash.....I had wood grain trim in my previous car (bmw) and prefer the wood grain....but can't get it on the TL, just the RL if my memory serves me right. Oh well, the seat leather more than makes up for it! Oh, and in case it matters....I'm actually a woman. And I love my 6 speed!
Oh wow, the difference between LA and NJ is $2k on the TSX? Hmm.. that seems quite a bit. Did you click the "recent sales" tab and look at the lowest bar graph? I just typed in a random NJ zip code (07047) and truecar is showing me the lowest price of ~$28,000. (2010 TSX w Tech Auto) If you have a carmax nearby try to have them appraise the car. I found them to be more generous.
