Got my Q7 by bigsmooth77 on Mon Apr 18 20:03:53 PDT 2011

I ordered a Q7 Prestige (non-diesel) with all the bells and whistles. MSRP of just over 70K. It took a long time to get here but it was worth it. LOVE the car. DFW Audi was unbelievable. The only dealer not willing to play fair was Boardwalk. They laughed at the offer 2 other dealers were willing to take, and then called back two weeks later and acted like they were willing to do me a favor by selling me the car for that price. In comes DFW Audi. They not only beat the other two equal offers (one from Beasley in Austin and the other from University Park Audi), but there were no games, best price, unbelievable service. So much so that I live in Plano and am willing to drive across town to get my car serviced there. Car Man suggested people shoot for 500-1000 over invoice on a Q7 over in the Q7 lease forum. I agree...and if you're lucky, you might even do better. That being said, I was told there's only one more allocation of Q7's for 2011's, so who knows if they'll still deal. Oh, and 21" wheels on the s-line are no longer available. Some problem with the manufacturer or something.

We are seeing higher demand not only for Audis but other makes and models. After 2008, most manufacturers have cut production significantly. Prior to 2008 you could get from stock any make, mode, options and color. Now it usually becomes a question of what is more important, options or color. The other option is to order or look to see what is in the pipleline where some options can still be changed. This also has an impact on negotiating the purchase price. -Tarry Shebesta, OCLC

maybe a great deal by audieddy on Tue Dec 21 20:38:08 PST 2010

Think I got a great deal, looking around for a Q5 had a number of dealers near me (Boston area) say they would not discount off MSRP, but a very fair dealer in suburbs was willing to give me $500 over invoice on a premium model. Problem was they have no 2.0s in stock and cant get one I want until mid to late Feb. I currently also qualify for the $1,500 loyalty rebate which expires on Jan 4th or 5th, so I could lose out if they stop that program. Called around and in greater Boston area where I found most dealers would not budge from MSRP on any in stock 2.0. Best I could find was about $500 under MSRP for one in stock. Some basically laughed when I asked them to match the 500 over invoice. Called around and found a non-local dealer who has a meteor gray arriving today in exact spec I want which will be ready by Thursday. Asked if they participated in the USAA program and they do, was willing to sell me for $250 over invoice. Awesome, so can I still qualify for $1500 rebate if I pick up this week ? Yup . Dealer then matched the best trade in value I could get from any dealer ($9500) on my 05 Jeep GC over the phone (ran VIN and asked about specs, mileage and condition which I was honest about). Then asks me if I want to finance through Audi? Maybe, what is the 60 month rate? 2.9%? Great! Oh and Audi finance is running a program where they pay my first month payment? Super! Double checked on that one since I thought you couldnt get both finance deal and rebate, but dealer confirmed it was legit. Said other dealers may just not be as willing to offer on this model. Ok, so I will find out on Thursday if this is straight up. Put a $1000 deposit down over the phone and if it does go down, I will be getting a Q5 at invoice +$250 but then minus $1,500 loyalty rebate and then minus another $525 (my estimated monthly payment). Too good to be true? Ill let you know in a few days . Only regret may be not finding a base premium plus with the HID and LEDs which invoices for only about $500more. Purchase pending on Meteor Gray/ Black interior premium with pano, htd seats, BT, Ipod and wheel locks (didnt want them but came with car). MSRP of $39,530 will be sold for $37,313 minus $1,500 rebate =$35,813 and then they pay my first $525 payment = net price of approx $35,300. Side note: Looked at new Jeeps which I loved the look of, but not a nice a driving experience (at least in V6, pick up was weak), financing wasnt as attractive, trade in value offered was $500 to $1000 less and gas mileage was really much worse (16 city/22 hw). Price was about the same (about 35k) for Laredo with leather, sunroof nav and BT .

What a nightmare by wicked4u2c on Mon Sep 06 23:01:49 PDT 2010

So I know I posted a few days ago (Sep 4) how I bought the car. Well, we ended up signing the contract that day but the car was at another dealership. We had to wait for the following day (Sep 5) to pickup the car. Well, that night I felt pretty comfortable about the deal, but I wasn't too sure about the whole Audi Care, Gap Insurance, and excess wear and tear package. Since it did add about almost $3,000 in extra costs. After talking to a few friends of mine they had mentioned that GAP is standard on a lease and that the excess wear and tear was a ripoff. So, I started feeling like I got screwed with the whole deal specially since I already signed. Well, after crunching the numbers on the contract I saw a pretty big discrepancy. On section 5 of the lease contract their is an itemized of amount due at lease signing that was not adding to the "total". It was off by several dollars, at first I thought maybe I wasn't adding it correctly. After several tries I kept getting a different number. So the following day I called to see if the car had arrived, they said it was ready to be picked up. I asked the finance manager about the totals not being correct on the contract and he replied rudely "I don't know, I never calculate this since the computer does it all". I waited about a min for him to manually calculate this and he said "Oh my, your right. Their must be a glitch in our system, you have to come in so we can take care of this or else the bank might say something." At that point I felt relieved, and felt it was good time to ask if maybe I could remove the Gap and Excess wear and tear package and just keep the Audi Care, but put $1,000 down (to offset the cost of Audi Care) to my surprise he didn't seemed phased. So I had asked him what my payment was going to be and he said $538.00 (with taxes). I said how is it $538.00? Yesterday before I added all of these features my payment was $512.00 with only $2,0000 down. Today All I am adding is the Audi care ($790.00) and I'm putting down an extra $1,000 down to offset that. Shouldn't my payment be under $512.00? He gave me this BS excuse on how maybe he didn't punch in the numbers correctly so he would call me back. After going back and forth for about 4 different phone calls and every time they were giving me BS excuses about how it was an honest mistake I finally caught on to their scheme of things.. What ended up happening was when I was first quoted they gave me a residual of $19,149 with a money factor of .00190. Well, when I got suckered into getting all 3 things, what they did was change the residual to $20,699 to accommodate my desired monthly payment in return that they had screwed me on GAP, Excess wear and tear package and Audi Care so they compensated it. But when I took everything off except Audi Care I had gotten a better deal than I had imagined. They were pissed off when they realized they had screwed up, so I really feel good about this and this was the end Result. 42 Month lease not 10,000 but $12,000 miles! Audi Care putting a total of $3,103.42 down. ($1,000 cash and the rest was trade in) I got my monthly payment to $515.03 (including tax) Here is contract section - Here is Sticker of Car - So lesson learned, ALWAYS READ YOUR CONTRACTS and triple check that residual and money factor really calculate correct. These dealerships are crooks and lie to you just to close the deal. Funny thing is when I told him that I didn't want GAP insurance, when I came back to sign the papers they told me that they had spoke to the manager and gave it to me for free. Right...!

Oh yeah, I have had the same experiences like you. Therefore, I never go back to that dealership EVER again after they were going to rip me off over $7500 off my trade-in. I ended up getting the same exact car I wanted at another Audi dealership. Never will I ever look back and do my business with them EVER again!
