Buying a car from a Mitsubishi Car Dealer
I get a quote of $31,583 O.T.D.for a fully loaded on a 2009 Outlander XLS 4WD. How you guys think about. I am at bay area of CA.
I just purchased a SE 2wd version with navigator. The selling price is $20,500 + sales tax + title with 60 month 0% interest in bay area, CA. I originally looking for a 2009 version which come with a rear camera and a little bit nice in appearance than 2008 version, however, it seems hard to find one. The dealer push very hard on selling this vehicle and i believed the deal was good so i drove it away.
So. Cal pricing info. (South Coast Mitsubishi, Costa Mesa, CA) Just picked up a 2009 Outlander ES FWD with Convenience pkg for $19,600 (including destination). Invoice price is $20,940. $1340 below invoice.
This may be a little off topic but I just wanted to let you guys know that you'd better watch out for the tricks that Mitsubishi dealers pulled. I just got cheated by a Mitsubishi dealer in Industry, CA. They added $5k worth of hidden charges such as leather seat protection to my Lancer with cloth seat, gap insurance that's already included in my car purchase and extended warranty. Be sure to look at your purchase contract carefully and make sure that you fill out N/A in any blank spots. Be very aware of dealing with Mitsubishi dealers in So. Cal especially in the San Gabriel Valley. Never believe those full-page back cover ads in the Sunday newspaper. At the end, my $11k car got inflated to $18k with all of those useless paint protection or leather protection. After I complained to Mitsubishi Corporate, they didn't care about penalizing the dealer neither. Just think twice before you get a Mitsubishi especially with dealers in Industry, CA or Puente Hills.
Batman47,where are you located? I'm in Southern California and a few of us on this forum have gotten $1500 + below invoice at South Coast Mitsu in Costa Mesa, CA.There are several dealers out here in SoCal. I ended up getting over $3200 below invoice because I went with an 07' XLS that had the rebate. Hopefully you're in an area with at least a few Mitsu dealers within 30 miles or so and what you do is go back and forth with the Internet managers at those dealers. Just don't be in a hurry and you will get a great deal. Like I've said before, they will probably laugh at you and act like it's impossible, in fact, they even showed me on their computer how much they will "lose" on the deal. That is just BS. They want you to think they're not making any money. I'm telling you, if you have the invoice of the vehicle you want, offer them $1500 less. If they say no, walk out. You might not get this price at the first dealer you go to, so be patient. I contacted several dealers by email and phone so I didn't waste time and gas. That is the beauty of email. If you have any more questions batman47, feel free to email me at ca_angelsfan@yahoo.com. Good luck.
