Hi Car_man: Checking in from Las Vegas, NV! I'm looking to lease a 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Here's the deal I'm being offered locally: =================================== Lease terms: 36 months and 15,000 miles/year MSRP: 33,683 (Pretty loaded model) Residual Value: 53.5% (18,022) Lease Money Factor: 0.00001 Cap Cost: 31,403 (*They claim this is Invoice + $300) Total Add Caps: 1,049 Adj Cap Cost: 32,452 Customer Cash Down: 463 (Amount due at signing) Total Monthly Payment: 433.83 =================================== I would appreciate if you would let me know if any or all of these figures are accurate and fair, particularly the quoted invoice of $31,103. They are taking a pretty firm position that they will NOT lease at or below invoice. Also, they are suggesting I better take advantage of the LMF (.00001) because it may change for the worse after February 28 (this Monday). Again, your thoughts on all of the foregoing would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I am out of touch but I did not think this was a "smokin' deal." THANK YOU!
Also...FYI I called Carson City, NV to see if they will do the tax thing, too...as I am a resident of PA and my taxes are 6% there...the guy I spoke to (I forget his name, but he was really nice, someone in the finance department) said that they would call the DMV or whatever relevant agencies in my county in PA (including perhaps another car dealership) to figure out what the taxes would be there, and then they would issue a check or something to cover the difference of what I would pay in NV taxes towards my registration fees in PA, so theoretically, I would be only paying PA taxes for the vehicle. Hope this helps!
Went to the local dealer to sit in a Prius for the first time during the middle of the week when no other customers were there. I let the salesman knowing I was debating waiting on the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. As we were walking to the car the sales manager comes out to introduce himself. He asked what I thought and I told him Fremont had 5 advertised at $19800 and asked if he would match. He didn't hesitate and said yes. I then asked if I still get the military on top of that making it $19300 and he said yes. In Cali doc fee is limited to $55. My only sticking point is I don't want to pay Cali taxes wich is $1K more than my home state of Florida. I probably call Carson City, NV to see if they will match and let me pay FL taxes. Otherwise I will take leave fly home and buy...atleast the money saved will pay for the trip home.
What's in a price? Just bought a 2011 Highlander Limited 4X4 and here is what I learned about invoice pricing.... correct me if anyone has more updated info. The invoice price for Northern CA was: Base model # 6956 $31,728 NV Navigation Pkg $2,188 TO Tow Pkg $176 CF Carpet floor / cargo mats $200 Destination charge $810 TDA Toyota Dealer Advertising $635 Gas (really) $10 Dealer hold back $726 Reserve $363 Total Invoice $36,836 I got this package through aggressive internet dealing with up to 14 dealers and settled for one at a bit under $36,500 then subtracted the rebate of $750. Including all taxes and fees, the out the door price was around $40K. If I had a little more flexibility on the colors, both interior and exterior, I think I could have done a little better. Used my own credit union for a great interest rate and skipped the extended warranty since I can buy it from any dealer over the next couple of years. Do your homework first. There is a lot of info on line. I put in about 20 - 30 hours over thirty days. Take good notes and track the numbers well. I used a simple Excel spreadsheet. Keep the dealers informed of what your best deal is, ask direct questions so you can compare apples to apples, be respectful and honest, and know your trade in value in advance if you have one. Best of luck.
