08 Sierra 1500 Ext Cab SLE2 Lease Question by speedracerr on Thu May 29 16:31:29 PDT 2008

Hey Carman, Was just offered the following deal for a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Ext. Cab w/ SLE2 with tow package. I think the dealer's padding the invoice price by a few hundred also. Does this seem like the best deal i can get? I reside in NV. The figures are based on 48 mos/ 12k mile MSRP: $33,565 Invoice: $31059 Residual Amt/ Pct: .51% Money Factor: 5.75% Gross Cap Cost: $28,559 Net Cap Cost: $28,461.50 I'm hoping to get the payments below $370. Is this possible? Thanks a lot for your help!!!

We live in Vancouver, WA, and I too have had a good chuckle over the perception in the local market that everyone has to have AWD. The locals seem to be just as clueless about driving in snow and rain whether all four wheels are driven or not, but that doesn't change the dealer's idea that there is no market for 2wd vehicles whenever there is a AWD option for a given vehicle. I just planned to buy it somewhere else - CA, NV, ID, wherever...makes for a good road trip on the way back. [None of the local Saturn dealers, for example, have a FWD Outlook, and even the Seattle dealers have too few to make the choice reasonable - but all have endless rows of AWDs to choose from.]

You are being taken. That dealer who is offering that lease should be taken into custody. This is what a lease should like. http://www.saturn.com/saturn/FindOfferController.dyn Check this out and compare. The bottom line you shouln't be leasing a car unless you fully understand it. Some of these dealers are so damn slimey I just cringe at seeing them rip off people.

mjr15197, that lease may smell. Whats confusing is your trade. Is it paid off?? did you owe money? Blue book value versus what the dealer gave you?? Its a bit convoluted. I know that the Saturn Outlook has some pretty good leasing deals going on right now. Nice SUV to take a look at.

Tapgypsy, did the dealer say "this is a stick up". Its sounds like he was wearing burgelar mask.
