Buying a car from a Mazda Car Dealer
Well, I got $16,200.00 From Browning Mazda in Cerritos Mazda in CA. I used overstock.com pricing (Zip is 92025, $16,577) and worked down from there. Within 5 minutes on the phone the internet sales manager said $16,300 then when I starting to back off he did $16,200.00. I was told by a couple of dealership they would bait and swith. Complete opposite, they called, asked what color I wanted (black/black) and they had to do a car swap with another dealership. When my wife changed her mind, they were willing to do anther swap for a gray one she wanted. Well, I thought there must have been some catch, because the neg. went to wasy. but no. The breakdown is below. The salesman just asked for my id and payment info (paid all cash except for $5,000.00 on a credit card for a milage bonus) and the finance guy didnt not try to sell me anything. They even let me leave the car there overnight so I could visit family in Glendale. Overall a great deal. Do not deal with Mazda of Escondido, they are not very honest and tried to tack on fake govt charges to their "best offer of $18,500.00. Browning Mazda is known for picking you up at an airport to complete a deal and are real straight forward. Sticker: $20,410.00 Price:$16,200.00 Tax (8.75) $1422.31 DMV Electronic Filing: $29.00 License and Registration: $280.75 (includes tire tax of $8.75) Doc Prep: $55.00 Total: $17,987.06 including a free oil change. I just need to Tint the Windows (anyone know how much for the rear and pax windows???) They said they will beat the overstock.com price. So again, I totally recommend Browning Mazda of Cerritos.
hey all, about to purchase a speed3 and im looking for a little advice. since the speed3 forums are kinda dead, i figured id post here since my questions are pretty general. I located an 07 speed3 that i love, but the price just isnt right. Ive shown the dealer quotes ive gotten from other dealers in the area for thousands less and he made a counter offer that i thought was pretty fair. I obtained a carfax and thats why im here... the carfax lists a possible issue with odometer rollback and when i look into it, the miles reported just dont add up. The mileage is only off by about 4k miles, so at first i thought it could be a clerical issue (like carfax suggests). but upon closer inspection it just looks too fishy. i asked the dealer about it, who also thought nothing of it. i pretty much told him i would have to back out of the deal unless he had something more substantial for me, and now is offering another 2k off the agreed upon price. so now im stuck; the price is great, i love the car but im just unsure what to make of the milage. any opinions??? thanks for the help.
New tires???? Yes..they are because they came with the new car shipped from Japan. Unless you asked them to replace the tires, they can take a hike. Internet Access? Is satellite or FM radio now called "Internet". Perhaps they put in a mobile 3G wireless access router into the 12V power outlet to give you wirelesss access in the car. Maybe they are giving you one of these http://3gstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=961 but make sure they provide the 3G PC card or USB dongle and include the lifetime PCS service. Window etching? Fraud. The car has a security system. who cares if you recover the glass or not. This is your insurance companies issue, not theirs! Credit Check? They check everyone that walks in the door for a test drive. It's the cost of doing business. If you have this in writing, I would fax it over to the Attorney General and the CEO of Mazda North America immediately and get their stealership license revoked.
I think I read somewhere in here that the 2008s had $5-6k incentives well after the 2009s started coming out, but the obvious risk is whether the inventory will be there. You could go in and lay it out straight to them and say, this is what I have to spend, can you get there. Worst case they simply say no and you have your answer. If they can get there, I would say there must be some kind of other relatively big volume incentive that they are sharing with you, and they are making very little on the car. The article in the link below indicates supply/demand might be starting to come in line a bit more, so whether big discounts will be available later will depend a lot on whether that's true... http://www.newsweek.com/id/209238?from=rss
>> I'm planning on purchasing a used 2004 rx-8 with navigation. Its listed for $12,500 @ 83k miles NADA has it priced at $11,000 This is the listing on autotrader. >> It has 83k miles average of 16.7k a year. This is my only real concern with the car. >> The Carfax is clean with 8 service records reported. No recalls that have been an issue with most 04's are reported. I went to go see it in person and it does look to be in great condition cosmetically >> Im not sure what trim it is but i think its the GT, maybe someone could help me identify the trim in the pics? >>Id just like some opinions if this is a good value and more importantly is the mileage ok? as the price isn't to much of a concern i can afford it but id hate to be ripped off a 1000 dollars.
