Out The Door. In essence the amount of the check you give them. I've had somewhat better luck online. Out of the eleven dealers within 100 miles, three haven't responded at all. Two were pretty good often responding within an hour (during business hours). Their answers were always on point. These two were lowest quotes I got. The others were considerably worse: not answering my question, answering the wrong question, days between between replies, etc. Overall I got a range of $1200 on their lowest, OTD prices. One I nicknamed texting guy- his answers looking like of bunch of text messages strung together. While he was the one of the lowest priced and promised to beat any other dealer's price his lack of professionalism, timeliness (or lack thereof) and varying answers over time really turned me off. I ended up putting a deposit down this weekend with one of the good ones. The price was as quoted.

Congratulations on the purchase, zen2. The I4 would have given a bit more MPG, but I think you'll enjoy driving that powerful V6. It's nice to know, and feel, there's always power on tap when needed/wanted. Happy ownership!

Like most vehicles, the Sonata sunroof drops the headliner down roughly a couple of inches. It's most noticeable in the Sonata from the back seat. When sitting in the back seat and looking forward, you can see a noticeable drop in the headliner just in front of your face that continues all the way forward. -Ty

Nearly a $1,000 below invoice. Good job! In terms of the extra rebate this week, it's difficult to predict what the manufacturer is going to do, so don't beat yourself up over it. For all we know the rebate could become even more appealing next week, or disappear altogether. Forget about it and enjoy that new Sonata! -Ty

"Besides, if you buy a car from out of town, how does your local dealer know you didn't just move into town and started coming to them for service?" In this case, Zen2 has already visited the PA dealers and received quotes. They know Zen2 didn't just move into town already owning a Sonata. Sounds like your experiences have been different, but the dealers I have purchased vehicles from have certainly given me special treatment, with freebies and car loaners when they didn't have too. They've worked hard to make me a repeat buyer. Dealer service is obviously going to vary depending on the management and workers, but in talking with the establishments I've patronized, they readily admit to providing extra service for people who buy vehicles from them. Anyway, that's beside the point. My main argument was that Zen2 will still be serviced by the local dealers no matter where the car is purchased from, and Fitz has a good reputation for easy purchases at extremely aggressive rates.
